Bireuen Regent Says Medical and Health Workers Have a Very Noble Duties.
The Regent of Bireuen, H. Mukhlis, ST, stated that the duties of medical and health workers are very noble.
This was conveyed by the head of Bireuen Regency during a meeting with medical personnel, health workers, and staff at the Simpang Mamplam Community Health Center and the Samalanga Community Health Center in Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province, Friday (July 18, 2025).
"The duties of the ladies and gentlemen (doctors, nurses, and community health center staff) here are very noble, serving the sick or those in need of care," said Regent Mukhlis.
Therefore, Mukhlis advised the doctors and nurses at the community health centers to always serve the community wholeheartedly and with discipline.
"If you carry out your duties beyond your obligations and are not paid, it can be a source of charity. But if you do not carry out your duties as required, it is a sin and constitutes corruption," he said.
On that occasion, Regent Mukhlis emphasized that his visits to the community health centers were not intended to find fault with the heads of the centers or their staff.
"Our visits to the community health centers were to directly observe the condition of the health care facilities in the sub-district. This is important, so if there are any shortcomings, we can improve them," he emphasized.
Simpang Mamplam Community Health Center, Regent Mukhlis stated, was the 18th community health center he had visited, and Samalanga the 19th.
"Of the 20 community health centers in Bireuen Regency, I have visited almost all of them. The only one I haven't is Jeunieb Community Health Center," he explained.
The Regent, accompanied by H. Jamaluddin, a member of the Bireuen Regional People's Representative Council (DPRK) from the Nasdem faction, the Head of the Bireuen Public Works and Housing Agency (Perkim), Fadli Abdullah, ST MSM, and the local sub-district head, also presented the regional financial situation following the issuance of Presidential Instruction No. 1 of 2025.
"This year, all regions in Indonesia have seen reduced infrastructure funding due to cuts in regional transfers. There have also been adjustments to routine budgets and official travel budgets. This is a central government order, and we must implement it," he explained.
After giving his instructions, the Bireuen Regent provided a question and answer session. The Head of the Simpang Mamplam Community Health Center, Suryani, SKM, took the opportunity to address the situation.
"The Simpang Mamplam Community Health Center is short of ambulances. I hope the Regent can prioritize this, considering our Community Health Center is located on a national highway and is prone to frequent traffic accidents," she said.
Furthermore, Suryani also expressed her hope that the Regent would not transfer doctors to the community health center without any short-sighted measures.
"We hope that the transfer of doctors will be done with the knowledge of the head of the community health center. The average number of doctors in community health centers is still insufficient," said Suryani.
In response to the request and expectations of the Head of the Simpang Mamplam Community Health Center, H. Mukhlis promised to work towards procuring an ambulance in 2026. Likewise, the transfer of doctors from the community health center will be carried out in accordance with regulations.
