A total of 30 Islamic boarding school leaders and administrators from 17 sub-districts in Bireuen participated in a training on Islamic boarding school management on Wednesday (July 16, 2025). The training took place at the Wisma Bireuen Jaya hall in Kota Juang District, Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province.

The event, organized by the Bireuen Islamic boarding school (Dayah) Education Office, was opened by Bireuen Regent H. Mukhlis ST, represented by Acting Assistant III to the Bireuen District Secretariat, Azhari SSos.

The Secretary of the Bireuen Islamic boarding school (Dayah) Education Office, Abu Bakar S.Sos., as head of the organizing committee, stated in his report that Islamic boarding schools (dayah) are Islamic educational institutions that play a vital role in maintaining and preserving Islamic religious and cultural values in Aceh.

Aceh, as a region with special autonomy in the religious sector, has special autonomy. To improve the quality of Islamic boarding school management, the Bireuen Regency Government, through the Dayah Education Office, held a dayah management training for Islamic boarding school leaders and administrators today.

The goal is to improve the quality of dayah management, strengthen the role of dayah in regional development, and build networks and collaboration between dayah in Bireuen.

The dayah management training covered basic concepts of dayah management and child-friendly dayah concepts.

The speakers were Anwar SAg MAP, Head of the Bireuen Regency Dayah Education Office, and Dr. Nazaruddin, MA, Rector of the Islamic University of Aceh.

The Regent of Bireuen, H. Mukhlis ST, represented by Acting Assistant III to the Bireuen Regency Secretariat, Azhari S.Sos, during the meeting, among other things, stated that the Dayah Education Office has worked hard to formulate numerous dayah development activities for 2025.

Not only today's dayah management training, but also numerous other dayah facility and infrastructure development activities, have continued to increase year after year, both in terms of budget and service to the community.

All of this demonstrates the Bireuen Regency Government's commitment to improving dayah management going forward. Dayah in Bireuen and other regions are like shining pearls amidst the ocean of civilization.

It is in Islamic boarding schools (dayah) that young people are forged into individuals of noble character, knowledgeable, and useful to the nation and state.

Dayahs have become a strong bulwark in preserving religious and cultural values amidst the onslaught of modernity.

One strategic effort to address this challenge is to increase the management capacity of Islamic boarding school administrators.

Through this training, Islamic boarding school leaders and administrators are expected to understand the basic concepts and principles of modern management, such as planning, organizing, leadership, and control.

This training will improve their ability to manage Islamic boarding school finances, making them more transparent, accountable, and effective. This training will also improve their ability to manage Islamic boarding school human resources, such as educators, staff, and students.

This training will also improve their ability to utilize information and communication technology to support the teaching and learning process and Islamic boarding school administration.

This training will also improve their ability to collaborate with various parties, such as the government, the business world, and civil society organizations.
