The Bireuen Regency Government through the Bireuen Regency Agriculture and Plantation Service (Distanbun), Aceh Province carried out simultaneous rice planting in Gampong (Desa) Meunasah Lueng, Samalanga District, Bireuen, Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

The simultaneous rice planting program activity to support food self-sufficiency in 2025, was attended by Assistant III of the Aceh Service Secretariat (Setda), Drs Muhammad Diwarsyah, officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Aceh Agriculture and Plantation Service.

The simultaneous planting was carried out together with the Deputy Regent of Bireuen, Ir H Razuardi, Head of Aceh Agriculture and Plantation Service, Ir Cut Huzaimah, Expert Staff to the Minister of Agriculture Hendri, Person in Charge of Aceh Food Self-Sufficiency, Agus Susanto, Head of Bireuen Agriculture and Plantation Service Mulyadi.

Meanwhile, Assistant III of the Aceh Regional Secretariat, Drs Muhammad Diwarsyah said, today everyone gathered to unite steps in the simultaneous rice planting movement.

As part of a major effort towards national food independence and security, to support the target of food self-sufficiency in 2025.

According to him, planting rice simultaneously has several effects, namely in addition to controlling pests and plant diseases, it can also maintain peace between farmers when using rice field water.

"If planting is not simultaneous, later there will be farmers who have planted rice that is almost harvested and do not need water anymore and there are farmers who have just planted and need water supply so that this can trigger debate," said Muhammad Diwarsyah.

It is hoped that by planting rice simultaneously, pests and plant diseases can be controlled, and the harvest can be even better. To agricultural extension officers, this can also be explained to farmers when providing extension.

Deputy Regent of Bireuen, Ir H Razuardi, said that simultaneous rice planting has various advantages such as efficiency of time and energy, more effective pest and plant disease control, and accelerating the harvest period simultaneously.

This is a strategic step that supports the national agenda in maintaining food availability, especially in a world that is still facing various challenges, starting from climate change, global food crisis, economic dynamics.

Previously, Kadistanbun Bireuen, Mulyadi expressed his gratitude to the Aceh Government for choosing Bireuen as the location for this activity.

Thank you also for the assistance of 25 tons of rice seeds given to Samalanga farmers. In order to achieve food self-sufficiency in 2025, Bireuen is required to plant 42,000 hectares of rice with a standard rice field area of ​​15,711 hectares. So he needs support from all parties.
