The Cot Tufah Village Government, Gandapura District, Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province, held various competitions to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
The event took place in the village field on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. The various competitions began at 2:00 PM WIB and continued until the end.
Hundreds of Cot Tufah residents who watched the various competitions rejoiced and laughed heartily. After the midday prayer, the community flocked to the event location. Children, teenagers, and adults mingled in the joyful atmosphere.
Dozens of mothers accompanied their children, while small vendors added to the excitement by selling various snacks.
Competitions included tug-of-war, running in sackcloth, cracker-eating, plate-throwing, ball-playing in sarongs, face-painting, and more. These included Karang Taruna (Youth Organization) administrators, village officials, and students from the Community Service Program (KKM) and others.
Participants included children, teenagers, adults, men, and women. This activity is a regular village event every Independence Day. The competitions also served as a form of entertainment and a platform for the artistic talents of the children and residents of Cot Tufah.
The competitions took place over two days, August 19–20, 2025, with participants from various age groups, from children to teenagers to adults.
The competitions featured hilarious and exciting activities from children from kindergarten to elementary school, who participated in cracker-eating and marble-carrying competitions. Competitions also included water bottle blowing, ball-throwing, and flour-filled plate-throwing competitions.
The atmosphere became even more lively as junior high and high school students competed in sack races, while the adult category was entertained with a dangdut ball game. The inter-village tug-of-war competition, held on Wednesday (August 20, 2025), was also a lively affair.
This series of activities not only brought joy but also strengthened ties, a spirit of mutual cooperation, and community togetherness.
The committee prepared consolation prizes in the form of notebooks and cash prizes for the winners. This activity also received support from students from the National University of Bireuen (UNIKI) who were conducting Community Service Lectures (KKM) in the village.
They helped the committee prepare the competition equipment and provided support for the event.
As the afternoon wore on, the laughter of the children, as everyone watched the teenagers dancing to the dangdut ball game, and the children trying to keep marbles in their spoons or fighting over crackers, added to the lively atmosphere.
