Dear friends, admins, and all moderators of this beloved community. Of course, feelings of love exist within every human being, generally for all living creatures in this world. Love is a gift and a blessing from the Almighty. Of the many forms of love that have been given, loving oneself is a greatness that cannot be exchanged for anything other than love for Allah and His Messenger.
Loving ourselves means we are ready and sincere in accepting and appreciating ourselves completely, with all our strengths and weaknesses, regardless of physical and mental health, and being kind and tolerant towards ourselves. Because we believe and trust that we are creations of the Almighty. Of course, we must be ready to accept this with an open heart.
In our daily lives, we can apply the practice of self-love in several ways, such as:
1. Understanding that we were once non-existent, and that Allah created us in the best possible way compared to other creatures. Therefore, self-love will emerge.
2. Carrying out all of Allah's commands and avoiding all of His prohibitions is an eternal form of self-love.
3. Maintaining physical and spiritual health and not forcing yourself to accept anything your body cannot accept.
It is important for us to affirm or emphasize self-love. This affirmation of ourselves can be achieved by recognizing ourselves, in the sense of knowing ourselves and accepting ourselves as we are, regardless of whether we were born poor or rich. And most importantly, never compare ourselves to others.
Self-love is not selfishness. True love arises from the depths of the heart, while selfishness is a burning desire.
But the final question is, "Have we truly practiced self-love in this life?"
Personally, I think sometimes yes, sometimes no. In general, human hearts in these end times do not always prioritize self-love in the sense of asceticism. Many still abandon asceticism, which means accepting what exists with an open heart.
Hopefully, we all belong to the group of people who always love ourselves, Amen...!
