Crocheted Bag and Sewn Shorts

in Steem SEA15 days ago

Since I forgot the stories of my old crocheted projects,I kind of busied my self last weekend with projects that instantly came to my mind. I was lucky I had yhe time to do it.

Two of the orders I ordered online came last Saturday. One is the facemasks, five packs of facemasks and two double sided tapes, and the rechargeable batteries and the charger as well. There was a camera leased to us five years ago but we never got to use it,(we just wanted to help the owner of it) because we have no rechargeable batteries. We kept it in but eventually forgot about it and when I came here in hive, I remembered it and thought I could use it in taking photos.

While I was charging the batteries, thought about how will I bring the facemasks at home. I don't have a bag for it. Then an idea came, I will make a crocheted bag. I thought of starting it with granny squares in solid DCs, but it takes too long to finish. So I decided to make a mesh bag, that way I could finish it in time. I was not really sure if it would work in the first round, but continued it and then I saw it getting good. I continued and was happy with the result. I started at 2 pm. Every now and the I stop needling because of my work. Some one asks for this and that but I get back to the project immediately. I didn't even have a coffee that time because I was so determined to finish it before six pm.

This is the camera that I wanted to use so I bought the battery and the charger

I charged it in the table so I could easily monitor it.

I already started the chevron stitch in this photo and was satisfied that the bag is starting to gain height.

The granny mesh square as the base of the bag

The newly finished bag with the face masks inside it. I'm impressed with my hand that I did it without a pattern followed and pretty fast too.

So that was how my Saturday needling went. Now to Sunday needling: I didn't do much of the laundry because I broke the washing machine and hubby said he will, call his technician friend to fix it. After washing the needed clothes for the week, we washed fast and early because the weather is not very good. Since we started early, we finished early too. It was after lunch when I decided to try on my mini sewing machine. It had a problem last time I used it so I set it aside for a while. I'm so happy it was working fine again. I guess the last time I used it, I sewed too thick or too thin fabrics. These were the kids' short pants that I sewed:

I used old fabrics with thess ones, some were from worn out dresses. I cut them out and sew together to create shorts. I'm so glad the kids liked what I did. The one with the flower prints, it was my daughter's dress and I turned it into pants. She likes it very much.

I have lots of plans in sewing, honestly, I planned on making under wears. But I guess that has to wait until I can buy myself a better machine for a neater work. I hope that day is soon.

Thank you for reading and have a great week ahead
