Jakarta is known as a metropolitan city with many towering buildings. However, despite its hustle and bustle, Jakarta still boasts beautiful natural attractions.

One of Jakarta's most popular natural attractions is the Thousand Islands. The Thousand Islands offer beautiful underwater scenery, white sand beaches, and a more tranquil atmosphere.

Located north of Jakarta, the Thousand Islands cover a total area of 4,745.62 square kilometers. This area consists of 8.76 square kilometers of land and more than 110 islands.

1.Bidadari Island

Bidadari Island is located only 25 minutes from Marina Ancol. This island is also known as Eco Resort Island due to its well-preserved natural environment.

There are various interesting things to discover on this island, including the Martello Fort, a Dutch heritage site. Bidadari Island is also very famous for its marine tourism, including snorkeling, fishing, canoeing, banana boating, and other activities.

2.Onrust Island

Onrust Island is famous for its archaeological remains from the Dutch colonial era. In addition to seeing historic colonial-era buildings, there is the Onrust Archaeological Park Museum with its miniature Onrust Island.

3.Macan Island

Here, visitors can stay in a clubhouse with delicious food and enjoy water sports such as snorkeling, diving, and canoeing. This island is not only a recreational destination but also a conservation area.

4.Ayer Island

6.Tidung Island

Tidung Island is divided into two parts: Big Tidung Island and Little Tidung Island. Visitors can enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the marine ecosystem from above, as the water on Tidung Island is very clean.
