The Foundry Shop at the Saidpur Railway Factory is a very important shop where the raw iron is melted and converted into metal materials. From there, many types of tools are made, which are added to the Bangladesh Railway. So, several essential things are needed here, such as burning hair with wood and burning metal in the fire of the stove.

Parts made in foundry shop

The parts made in the foundry shop and the foundry shop are originally known as the welding shop. Huge ovens are used here for welding work. These ovens were built during the British era and are still serving Bangladesh Railways in a very beautiful manner for ages.

Furnace used for casting

To use this stove, first the lucky is collected and arranged in layers in the wood stove. Then, furniture oil is used so that the fire moves very quickly and the air flow is increased with the help of a motor. The stove is ignited by the air and furniture oil.

Drum for holding hot molten metal

Wood has to be lifted up to be put in the stove. When the fire gets hot, iron is put in the fire to be burned. A lift crane is used to lift the iron. All the technologies used here are from the British era. Due to the lack of skilled workers, this traditional railway workshop may eventually lose its momentum.

Elevator, crane

After lifting the goods with elevators and cranes, when they are burned and turned into molten iron, which is a complete metal, they are then poured into drums and placed in tool boxes.

Molding box

Molding box: This box is used to pour hot iron into. Tools are made. To complete these processes, fire is generated and has to be fought. It is very risky for workers to work in this job.Even then, the workers fight for their lives and are always ready to serve the railway by risking their lives. Even then, they are seen with their own eyes and are subjected to a lot of neglect. The workers are always neglected by the higher officials.
