Abandoned Soldier Camp and Lugait- Manticao Boundary Point
Boundaries are everywhere and most of the place also contains a historical stories behinds of the sites. As part of my steematlast entry, I will take you to some place here in Manticao-Lugait border point and not just only a borders but also an abandoned Soldier camping sites during the Second World War. Its been many decades when this place was published and known as the boundary in fact this hundred year old big and solid concrete block was built many decades already. This solid concrete block is built at the middle of the forestry areas of the border, with a proper engraved about the Names of the two Municipalities and term "Boundary".
There was once a tall flag pole installed here but it was completely rusty and totally gone many years already. From the Municipality of Manticao, it takes to travel at about an hour before reaching the place same in Barangay Poblacion in Lugait, Misamis Oriental.A Forestry Place:
This is not really a forestry place, according to the elders who lives nearby this area here was once an open field where Guirilla soldiers set their camps here at the top of the cliff. This site here is not a plain one but it is located at the top of the cliff made with solid rocks and buried corals. There are few foxholes dug here and most of it are facing to the road and also to the beach front. For many years and decades has past, the once and open field is now completely covered up with wild grass and tall trees. Most of the trees grows here are native just like Molave, Mahogany, Germilina and even Talisay trees. Wild life animals like birds are truly expected here and the foxhole they dug that time was completely covered with grass and stones.
Rock Walls and Cliffs:
Cliffs are made with solid rocks and corals in fact it can also be seen from the road. It wont really easy collapsing because of the solid rocks here. Hiatorical stories told about that some rock cliffs are also contains a road trail ladders created by the Guirilla soldiers who made a camp here that time. The rock walls and cliffs are already covered with bushes and the rock ladder is totally vanished for a long time. Despite of rocky and stony place, there are still lots of wild grass and few trees grows at the place aside of that dangerous animals and insects like Centippedes, scorpions and Red ants lives on rock holes.
A Great Overlooking View from The Cliff:
This is the great overlooking views from the top of the cliff. Soldiers that time really wants to build their camps here because of the views so they can easily seen their enemies below and also at the road. It faces to the sea and below of this cliff is the wide and paradisiacal coastal areas. Sunset and big ships sight-seeing are perfect here in fact lots of photographers and bloggers loves to visit here.
A Newly Excavated Road:
This place is not actually road that time, this is the sites where few foxholes placed and it is also facing towards the sea. But as many years has past, it was completely abandoned replacing this road that served as a shortcut to all residents. This was excavated year 2010, and now it is completely as part of the Barangay Road here in Lugait.
A Very Busy Main Road:
Near at the Rocky road is the main road and it is always busy by different kinds of vehicles like trucks. From the top of the cliff, this road can be seen below including those vehicles and it is compost with four lanes expected to have a difficult situations when we crossed the road.
Each side of the road are lots of mahogany trees and cable wires connecting to all houses and establishments here. There are also lots of birds and doves flew and perching at the cable wires and some wild flowers and abandoned structures.
Abandoned Hatchery Structure:
This is one of the abandoned strcuture here and it was once a hatchery that produces shrimps and prawns. But it was completely abandones leaving this fish concrete tanks broke and almosy covered with wild grass. Exploring the boundary site is truly fun specially when it contains a historical stories behind of it. I was very delighted and amazed of the great stories I heard about the boundary point.

Interesting place, and interesting story. The area looks beautiful, and the location must have very strategic to the soldiers back then. I believe this is a public property now. Has it developed as a tourist attraction or just an abandoned place?
