A Visit to Akpata Clinic

Every community has a clinic and hospital, and the Akpata community has both a specialist hospital, which is private, and a primary healthcare clinic, which is a government clinic, that aims to provide healthcare services to the community.

It is my first time visiting the place, and I was so impressed with the way the healthcare is being managed and operated by the staff. I usually pass through the place, which I thought was a lonely place, until today, when my friend and I went to the clinic so he could run a malaria test.

Area view of the clinic

It is a small clinic which you can see from the area view of the clinic in the image. The clinic is meant to provide healthcare services for the community, and the good thing about the clinic is that they have enough staff who are well-qualified professionals in health services delivery.

Entrance

By the entrance of the clinic, I met an elderly woman sitting outside who came for a medical check-up. The woman sat down outside for more than 10 minutes before she went inside the consultation room to see the doctor.

Waiting Room

Inside the clinic, there is a waiting room for patients, and at the time I visited the clinic, it was just my friend and I who were inside the waiting room, as the place was empty. The chairs were empty, and while I was waiting for my friend to come out, a woman came and walked into the consultation room.

Drug Store and Dispensary Room

Inside the clinic, on the right-hand side of the waiting room, two offices are located: Drug Store and Dispensary. Also, there is a unit for opening files.

In conclusion Akpata Clinic is a small but mighty clinic that provides healthcare services to the community at an affordable rate, unlike the private hospital in the town. The clinic has many staff who are professional, and the place is always open 24/7 every day.
