Entertainment Blog #318 | Motorheads [2025- ] : A Soft Fast & Furious Version...
Crazy things happen in movies and TV series and sometimes it's too much. Every production is trying to be different by going hardcore. So it is hard to see some soft flowing TV series or a movie. But you know, it can't be that boring. And then I found this one.
Motorheads is the newest addition to the Amazon Prime Teen drama series bunch. It's a coming of age type, return to home city vibe series which goes with cars and daddy issues. There are a few familiar faces in the movie like, Ryan Phillipe from "The Shooter" and Natalie Kelly from "Tokyo Drift". It is not a pleaser who seek prefect plot but it can be watched without being stress out.
The story begins with a family of a mother, a daughter and a son who turned out to be twins but not identical, returns to the home city, Ironwood, Pennsylvania. They return to the house of their father's brother, Logan who seem to be close to the family. The reason to leave New York which they use to live is unknown.
One thing you should know is about the father of these children, Christian Maddox, who used to be the best driver of the town, got tangled up in a bank heist with wrong people and seems like he went missing after the mission. Most of the time, children hate these kind of fathers. But these are not that type.
The people in the town is so into cars, whether it is vintage cars, sport cars. Right after returning to the city, the son, Zac kinda tangle up in a love triangle and it opens up paths in racing for him. The daughter, Caitlin who is also a car lover wants to rebuild his father's car. She aslo kinda tangle up in a love square kind of a thing. The best thing is the mother is not bothering these guys as she's busy, being an ER nurse. It's Logan who mostly get in touch with.
As the story flows, these guys make bonds with various people, and get into trouble too. In the interim, his father's history also slowly unveiled, paving a different path for possibly the 2nd season.
First of all, this series has many flows. The reason to return to the hometown is not said. The siblings are twins, but they are completely different. It's just a few. You'll get to know more when watching. But...for me, with the theme of cars and racing, it hits differently for me. And it is easy going. No big surprises. That's why I bing watched it within a day.
Motorheads, it's no way a big head turner. It doesn't do any special, any extraordinary things. It plays simple and scramble some Fast & Furious stuff. And that's enough to please the general audience, I guess..
