Entertainment Blog #328 | Clown In a Cornfield [2025] : Exceptional as a Low Budget Movie...
Clown horror movies are scary and funny at the same time. Clowns are meant to be amusing but in movies, it's a scream for help. It was escalated with "IT" movies. Those stories goes with a ghost of a clown but in this movie, it's kinda different.
Clown In a Cornfield is a recently released #slasher #horror #movie. The cast consists of bunch of actors and actresses who had performed well before mostly in TV series. The best thing is it's said that the budget of this movie is only a million dollars. And it ended its theatrical run after earning 8 times than its budget.
The story goes around Quinn Maybrook, who lost her mother recently and now, she had to move to Kettle Springs, Missouri with his father who is going to be the new doctor of the town. She starts her new school with a detention but it's not because of her fault. Then she befriends quickly with a gang including Cole Hill—the mayor’s son—and his group of friends, including Janet, Matt, Ronnie, and Tucker.
What this group does is making prank videos and ghost videos and post them online. They make ghost videos based on an urban legend of a clown named Frendo. One day they gather and make a video and after Quinn watching it closely, she saw another clown other than the one dressed by Tucker.
In the interim, 100th Founder's Day festival was held and as a prank goes wrong, the function became a disaster and the sheriff imprisoned the teenagers responsible for the actions which are video making clan.
Soon after Quinn was released, her father grounded for actions. But the party at the Baypen's old farmhouse. She went there with the help of Cole. At first it was OK. But it didn't take that long to get bloody.
I was impressed to hear that this was a 1 million dollars budget movie. It did feel more than that. I think it was the color grading and exceptional acting of the cast for sure. And it was obvious to go for a slasher movie as it would be expensive to make a ghost type horror movie.
The story was on a good phase making the viewer guessing what's behind this massacre. And at the end, it was well executed. Would recommend "Clown In a Cornfield" for sure if you have time..
