Entertainment Blog #342 | Fountain of Youth [2025]
Treasure hunting movies go a long way in Hollywood history. Can't forget Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones and Luke Cage's National Treasure. But when it comes to today's film industry, are there actors that can rely to act the way Harrison Ford or Brendon Fraser did? It's not just the look. That aura should be there. I think John Kransinski is a good pick.
That's why the producers picked him to play the main role in the #movie "Fountain of Youth". We all know Guy Ritchie is a serious director when it comes to #action movies and he's the one who behind this movie too. Other than Kransinski, Natalie Portman, Eiza González, and Domhnall Gleeson play the main roles here.
The story goes around Luke Purdue, a son of a great archeologist but he took somewhat negative path of it. Nowadays, he is working with Owen Carver, a wealthy man who suffers from a liver cancer. With Murphy and Deb also, they've been helping for this. It's not Luke's idea of this new journey, it is Owen's.
Since Owen is dying and his money can't save him, he did some research and found about "Fountain of Youth", one drop of it can send all the illness away. It's been hidden for good I guess but these guys had found some leads to find the location. According to them, six artists from 1600s had made a puzzle to reveal the location of the fountain. Locating some of the original art pieces is a big issue. And that's when Charlotte comes to play.
Charlotte is the sister of Luke who works at London Museum. Her life is falling apart because of the divorcing and probably the child care would go for her husband Harold. But the kid, Thomas loves Charlotte. And that's when Owen comes to play with a solution: his lawyers will help Charlotte to win Thomas's custody and Charlotte should help the team to retrieve the paints and solve the mystery.
So what will happen to this #adventure? Is it true or is it a lie? Will they find the Fountain of Youth? It's upto you to find out.
I really enjoyed the solving the mystery and the action stuff of the movie. But you know, sometimes critics want another way. They want a movie to be meaningful. But it is not that necessary to enjoy. So don't care about the ratings and enjoy the movie.
