I believed.....

It was around 2:30 p.m. Suddenly, I wake up to the sounds of dogs barking. My husband was away with his friends for a picnic that day, so I was alone with my pet Beenu.

Without getting out of bed, I listened to the sounds that came from the road. I heard a few people were muttering. I got out of bed silently and went closer to the bedroom window. When I looked at the road through my window curtain, I saw there were three people talking together. The dogs were still barking at them, but they continued talking. All my doors and windows were locked well. I was frightened, but if I wanted, I would call my son or neighbours. I was in my house without turning on any lights, so no one could see me. Therefore, I stayed at the window, silently looking at what was happening outside.

The time passed slowly. One man walked forward, and the other two followed him. They abruptly halted their walking and looked back. Next, a red car stopped near them. They all ascended to that car. The car slowly moved forward. All the sounds faded away except the dog's barks.

I went back to my bed after a few more minutes and reflected on what I had witnessed. Who were they? Were they thieves? I was a little stressed.

Despite being in bed, I was unable to fall asleep. I kept thinking about who they were all night.

Finally, I thought they might be mobile police officers who were searching for the thieves in our area.
