Food Stalls at Small and Cottage Industries Fair, Saidpur
I am participating this contest, Steem Atlas Challenge XiX - Pin Your Favorite Spot. Thank you @damithudaya for organizing this beautiful contest.
A few days ago, I had the chance to visit the Saidpur Small and Cottage Industries Fair, which was held in the nearest city, Saidpur, not far from our town. I was really happy to attend because the fair turned out to be more vibrant and flourishing than I expected. One of the highlights for me was the variety of delicious and mouthwatering foods available at the food stalls. In this publication, I’d like to share my experience and some of the amazing food items I discovered at the fair.
For me, the most unique and eye-catching food stall at the fair was the Roller Ice Cream shop. I had never seen such a beautifully decorated roller ice cream stall before. What made it even more interesting was the variety of fresh fruits displayed at the counter.

The shopkeeper was making ice cream right in front of the customers using a cold roller surface, mixing different fruits together on it. It was fascinating to watch! The price for one cup of roller ice cream was 50 BDT. Of course, I couldn’t resist trying it. The cup I had was a fruity mix, including mango, dragon fruit, and a few other flavors. The taste was just as refreshing as it looked!
Another eye-catching street food stall at the fair was one named "Mayer Doa". The stall was quite popular and attracted many visitors with its inviting display.

A variety of food items were available here, including chicken fry, chicken burgers, spiral potatoes, sandwiches, kebabs, and beverages. The lovely looking foods from the stall made it hard to walk past without stopping for a taste.

However, there was a problem. The food looked mouthwatering, but I had some doubts about its quality. The items were not covered, and while I was there with my family, one customer complained that he had found a worm or something similar in his food. That was quite disturbing, so I decided not to let my family eat from this stall.

Another large street food shop was located near the entrance of the fair, named "Dhaka Doi Fuchka and Kebab House". This stall offered a tempting variety of snacks and refreshments. Here, you could enjoy fuchka, chicken chaap, ice cream, cold drinks, and more.
Apart from the stalls I mentioned earlier, there were many more scattered throughout the fair. Among them, the most unique were the Hawai Mithai, Ice-Gola, and Smoke Biscuit shops. Hawai Mithai is a traditional sweet treat in our country, often seen at fairs and festivals.

I couldn’t help but feel that, among all the various mouthwatering fast foods, Hawai Mithai might one day become rare or even extinct. What made this stall special was that the shopkeeper was preparing it right in front of the visitors. I have seen Hawai Mithai many times before, but this was the first time I actually witnessed the process of making it, and it was fascinating.

I also came across a Smoke Biscuit shop at the fair — something I had never seen in any fair before. The idea of biscuits releasing smoke when you eat them caught the attention of many visitors and added to the uniqueness of the event. There was also a small tea stall in the fair where tea was served in traditional clay pots. I couldn’t resist trying it, so I ordered a cup. The presentation in the clay pot gave it a nice traditional touch, but as for the taste, it wasn’t anything special, just an average cup of tea.

Before leaving the fair, I visited one last shop where a variety of food items, desserts, chocolates, and more were available. The shop looked especially lovely under the bright lights, making it a pleasant final stop. Overall, the food stalls at the fair were unique and amazing, offering both traditional and modern treats. However, not every stall maintained the same quality of food, so it’s important to be conscious and choose wisely when deciding what to eat at such events.
