Today, I want to share with you all about a holy place in our town. It’s a mosque where Muslims gather to pray, the Rahmat Nagar Shahi Jame Mosque. Let me tell you about this mosque. This mosque was originally established in 1940, during the Pakistan era. Just hearing the date gives you an idea of how old it really is.

But if you see the mosque today, you might think it’s a newly built modern structure. That’s because it was completely renovated in 2019.

I had seen the old structure of the mosque, and honestly, I used to like its traditional architecture a lot. It carried the charm of the past. But now, with the new modern design, the mosque is much larger and more spacious. Inside, it can accommodate many more servants of Allah to perform their prayer, and there’s even provision for making it a two-story mosque in the future.

This beautiful gate was recently built

The mosque is located very close to the main road, surrounded by several houses. Its main gate has been beautifully reconstructed, and the beautiful designs really caught my eye. The boundary wall is also nicely designed. There’s a shaded shoe rack area outside, while the main building has a solid, modern roof.

This modern ablution room features a row of taps and low seats which allowing individuals to comfortably perform their ablution in preparation for prayer

In front of the mosque, a large new ablution area (wudhu khana) has been built. There are two places where ablution facilities are available. The older ablution facility is located near the main gate, also has several toilets beside it. The new one is more modern, made only for ablution, and there are some flowering plants besides which make the place look refreshing.

The windows of the mosque are beautifully shaped and large enough to allow sufficient light and air to enter the mosque

Previously, there were a few columns in the mosque that looked really nice, but they are no longer there. Inside, the flooring is covered with white tiles, which I personally love, the clean white interior creates a very peaceful atmosphere for prayer.

Beautiful and peaceful interior of the mosque

The mosque is also equipped with modern facilities. A few weeks ago, air conditioners were installed and there are plenty of ceiling fans and excellent lighting. There are also many windows, allowing natural light and air to flow inside.

Two decorative panels featuring images of minarets and what appears to be the Kaaba in Mecca flank the mihrab. A wooden minbar, a raised platform from which the Imam delivers sermons, is visible to the right of the mihrab

Digital clock and prayer schedule

One of the things I really like is the digital clock inside. Right below it, there’s a display of the prayer timetable, making it easy for worshippers to know the exact prayer times and join the paryer on time.

The main gate looks amazing from the yard of the mosque

Around the mosque, there are several trees and plants, which help keep the environment cooler and more serene. Truly, the Rahmat Nagar Shahi Jame Mosque is one of the most modern mosques in our town. Its spiritual value is beyond words.

I think maybe the development isn’t finished yet there are still some construction works left. In the coming days, the mosque will likely have even more facilities and features added, making it an even more beautiful and comfortable place for the prayer.

I warmly invite everyone to visit this mosque and experience offering a prayer here at least once.

I am inviting @rauja apu, @vivigibelis & @pea07 to take part in the contest.
