A Mysterious Story

Hello my Steemit family, it's my pleasure to be a participant in this contest. Sit back and fasten your seatbelt as I take you on a journey of mystery.

In a little town of Grope lived a moderate number of settlers. In this town, a major runs the town but it has a strict rule which is being passed down: Never venture into the woods after the river at the outskirts. The townsmen obeyed this rule and lived with it for years. Everything changed when two mischievous boys decided to go against the rules.

During the day and night sessions, the rivers appear to be peaceful and appealing to the eyes but villagers decided to use an artificial source of water. This is done to stay away from that particular wood. The boys Jone and Jake took that opportunity and sneaked to the riverside. The calm air from the woods enticed them to go in. Since the river was that big, they made it through into the woods.

When they eventually made it through the woods, everywhere became quiet. Even the small creatures like cricket were mute and static. Jake saw this change and was terrified but Jone assured him that everything will be fine. Ignoring that, they went into the woods and found a rope that was lying on the ground. They decided to leave it that way.

After a few steps, they spotted an old cottage which was deserted in nature. Moving closer, they found a padlock on the door but it was broken. That gave them easy access which they moved in. The air inside was nauseating but they had to hold their breath. Moving through the old floorboard made the squeak sound more dominant. Suddenly, a gush of wind shut the door and the boys were really terrified. The light flickers through the room which reveals strange marks and eerie objects.

While cuddling with each other, a shadowy figure with sharp fangs move across the room. This sent shivers down their spine and they looked for an escape route. Their minds pointed to the door and it mysteriously opened. Shadowy hands were after them but they had to run for survival. Luck shined on them when they came back to the river which they crossed to the other side.

On reaching there, their parents are already waiting worriedly with other townsmen. They ran into their parents arm who urged them to speak up. They told everything that happened. Some of the townsmen went into the woods and found nothing. With that, they sealed the forest and returned to their normal lifestyle again. For the boys, the trauma stills remains with them.
