THE DIARY GAME | TRIP TO KATHARAGAMA| 20.09.2025

Today I decided to share with you another beautiful day in my life spent with the loved ones around me.

Today is another special day in my life. Since my husband is a sailor, he makes it a mandatory trip to the Katharagama pilgrimage site after his vacation. So today we decided to go there.

Katharagama is a very famous Buddhist and Hindu pilgrimage site in Sri Lanka.

So today I woke up at around 5.00 am. Usually, my husband's parents also join us on this trip. So they prepared bread for our breakfast. Then I woke up the two children and got them ready. Then we left at around 6.00 am.

For me, this early morning trip was a fresh experience, but for the two children, they slept until they reached Kataragama because it was cold. It was a bit of a long trip, and it took us about 2 hours to get there.

Even though we entered the Kataragama Devalaya (Kirivehera) before sunrise, it was crowded with devotees due to the weekend. So we worshipped and left for the Kataragama Devalaya.

By around 9.00 in the morning, everyone was hungry, so we went under a big shady tree to have breakfast. It was a fresher experience for all of us than usual. So everyone who had prepared food from home ate their food very happily and enthusiastically.

Then we left to return at around 10.30 in the morning. Since we crossed the highway on the way back, we reached home at around 12 noon. We also took lunch on the way.

So after reaching home, everyone washed their bodies and took a nap, because everyone was a little tired.

After a short rest, I made tea for everyone, and then helped my daughter with her school homework. My son is still 3 years old, so he also had to do his homework like his sister.

My daughter had a hard time studying with him. So, since my husband was at home, he took care of him until I finished my other work.

Although my husband didn't spend much time at home, he tried to be as supportive as possible during the few months he was at home.

Then I thought of making instant noodles for dinner. Since it didn't take much time, I quickly made dinner and ate it happily with everyone as a family.
My day went like this. So I hope you like my diary post.
