The Sensitive Plant

This special plant is locally known by many diffrent names, such as the sensitive plant and touch-me-not. In my local dialect, it is called Nnfefehe-iko, which, when literally translated, means "I run away from problems" or "I avoid problems".
If you intend to ask Google about this plant, search for Mimosa Pudica, "the shy plant."

It is satisfying to watch its delicate leaves fold, close, and droop when touched or disturbed, retreating shyly, and then reopen only when it feels the trouble is gone and all is calm.
Imagine a scenario where the plants in your garden are all having distinct personalities. In that case, Mimosa Pudica will be the tiny, green drama queen in your garden!

While this plant claims to avoid confrontation, when pushed to the wall, it can fights back with the small, prickly thorns or spines on its stems, which can discourage animals from feeding on the plant, and can also make sure you don't get too comfortable disturbing it.

Next time you see its small, fluffy, spherical yet charming and delicate pinkish-purple flowers blooming in clusters, know that you may get stung if you decide to touch.

Often seen by the side of the road growing as a weed, this plant is said to be effective in treating conditions like arthritis and wounds because of its anti-inflammatory properties. There are some claims that it has antimicrobial, anticancer and can help protect the liver against toxins.

In traditional medicine, some people use in the treatment of diarrhoea, dysentery, and other gastrointestinal problems. It is an important ingredient in the concoction for treating respiratory Issues, skin conditions, insomnia and infections.
Some people say it can be used to treat snake and scorpion bites.

Caution

Avoid ingesting the seeds of this plant, as they are reportedly toxic. I would love to inform you that using large quantities of this plant or repetitive use of small quantities of the leaves can also build toxicity with time. There are some people who may experience an allergic reaction, such as a skin irritation or respiratory issues, when handling this plant.

So a lot of caution is advised. And if you intend to use this plant for medicinal purposes, especially if you have underlying health conditions or are taking medications, I would suggest you consult a healthcare professional.

I am inviting you and the following to drop a comment on the popularity and any possible uses of Mimosa Pudica @bela90, @nspidoz, @ninapenda, @dequeen, @rubee2as1 and @whoever can add some value to this post through comments.
