Hits a new score!
My memory game score has stuck at >1580 for too long. So, I have made up my mind to beat my last score in every new game. But each time I try, it looks like I’m not making any progress at all.

Earlier today, I visited the site again. This time with the well-caramelised desire to hit that perfect 1700 points I always dream of.
30 seconds to my aha moment and my phone's screen begins to lag. It gets so bad that the tiles would not flip when I tap on them. Neither would it respond to any other touch.
I feel frustrated. Switch off my screen and decide to try again. Same thing. Then, I managed to push on and earned 1523 as a reward.

Actually, this has nothing to do with the site. Rather, it can be traced to the tool I use.
My grandaunt believes that using firewood enhances the taste of foods. So, she doesn't mind setting up a “furnace” whenever she prepares local delicacies like ekpang nkukwo (made with cocoyam pudding) or ayan ekpang (a semovita like meal made with cassava pudding).

She has been able to convince everyone in the house that this works. Her meals are so tasty that she has to cook it in multiple pots just to satisfy our hungry taste buds.
I, on the other hand, believe that grilled fish tastes better than steamed ones. I'd prefer moimoi (beans pudding) made with cocoyam leaves over moimoi made with customised cups.
So, everything boils down to the tools used.
In life, some people have access to different tools. Some attend better schools, some don't. Some have better infrastructures, some struggle to see something as insignificant as constant electricity.
This is why it's advisable to grow at your pace and not track your growth using other people's metrics.
That person you admire, that kid who wins every mathematics competition could have an after-school maths teacher or parent who drills her every day.
You started a business with someone in your city 5 years ago. However, today, their product has made it to Walmart, yet you are still struggling to get just one grant to support your business from collapsing.
What you might not know is that she has a strong network which she leverages on. She has an uncle in LA who can make things happen with only one call.
You could be talented, but if you use the wrong tools, you might not get the result you desire.
So, whenever you feel stuck, check your tools. You might be working with the wrong one. You need better ones.
PS I wish to give myself a treat when I reach my first 1700 points. I'm confident that it will happen one of these days. I don't know what would be the best treat. I'd appreciate suggestions.
Thank you for stopping by
