My Entry for the [Blind Audition Stage] in VOS

Gather around, oh ye singers! Doesn't matter whether you are an award-winning vocalist or another wannabe singer who sees their bathroom as a perfect stage.

I am Ukpono, a fellow bathroom rockstar who has dedicated her entire life to creating beautiful melodies, including the ones that scare my neighbour's cat, sometimes.

I have decided to bring this talent to the limelight by joining @bossj23’s Voice of Steemit ‘25.

Did I hear a big applause?

For this audition, I'd sing a song that's so close to my heart. It is titled “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen.

What sets this song apart from every other “hallelujah” song is its unconventional lyrics.

I love how the Canadian singer weaves words and ideas about spirituality and romance together without fear of what people will say. Do you know that I almost sang this as a special number one time only to realise that it was a secular song after reading its second verse.

Cohen makes allusions to King David and Bathsheba (Remember the secret chord that David played). Then makes reference to Samson and Delilah as well.

He sings with a super melodious voice. One that can blow anyone away.

I like how we are given the freedom to choose the songs that best suit our voices and personality. I chose this song specially for this audition because of its rich sound and emotional lyrics. I believe that it is a song other bathroom rockstars will love to render unhindered during their next shower show.
