The Diary Game | 11th of Aug 2025 | ♥ A New Bicycle for Vihan ♥

When Vihan was just two and a half years old, we bought him his very first tricycle. At that time, he wasn't tall enough to ride it properly. But with time, practice, and a little help from us, he somehow learned to ride and enjoy his little tricycle. It also became a great activity to keep him occupied whenever he felt bored. In the evenings, we often took him to a nearby playground or a walking path where he could ride freely.

Now that he has grown bigger and a little taller, he often asks for a new bicycle whenever we pass a bicycle shop. So we decided to get him a new bicycle with side support until he learns to balance.

One evening, after my husband returned from work, we visited a nearby shop that sold bicycles. Vihan was thrilled to choose his own bicycle, and he chose a blue bicycle. His excitement was priceless.

The shopkeeper was very kind and even shared some of his life experiences with us. He mentioned how children nowadays are fortunate to get what they wish for, while in his time, they had to make various commitments to get a small thing done. He then helped us fix all the parts in the bicycle and handed it over to Vihan with a smile. The bicycle cost us 14,000 Lkr, which is equivalent to 172 Steem.

On another evening, we took him to the walking path with his new bicycle. At first, he was a little scared to ride it on his own, just like we had supported him to ride his tricycle, we supported him to gain his confidence to balance his bicycle. Now he rides happily, and it fills my heart with joy to watch him grow and enjoy his new experience.

As parents, every milestone, no matter how small they are It is so precious to us. We will always have those lovely memories with us, even after the kids grow and move on with their own lives.
