Why I'm Powering Up My Posts on Steem and Blurt
If you haven’t noticed lately, I’ve been powering up most of my posts on both Steem and Blurt. While the core reason is simple—growing my influence—there’s more to it than just wanting bigger upvotes or more visibility. I’d like to share a bit more on why I’ve made this a part of my strategy and why it might be worth considering if you're just getting started on these platforms.
Steem: Building Influence with a Legacy Platform
Steem was the first platform where I truly began my journey of earning crypto through social media. I’ve been on it since its early days, and it’s been foundational to my approach to content-driven crypto earnings. Although many of the users who once supported my work have become inactive, the platform still holds great potential.
With my current level of Steem Power, I earn small but consistent rewards through curation. Powering up my posts to 100% helps increase those returns and amplifies my ability to support others. Even a small boost can lead to compounding growth over time. For anyone new to Steem, consistently powering up not only helps grow your stake but also signals that you’re here for the long haul—a key factor in building credibility and connections.
Blurt: Growing Together with the Community
Blurt has always felt like home to me. It’s a welcoming and active community, especially for newer users. One of the ways I contribute is by upvoting fresh posts from the "Recently Created" feed—giving exposure to voices that might otherwise go unheard.
By powering up my posts here, I’m increasing my Blurt Power, which directly boosts my ability to curate and uplift others. While I do support people I already follow, I’m intentionally dedicating more of my time to users I don’t follow—those just starting out or trying to find their place. I remember being in that position myself: low on Blurt Power and hoping for someone to notice my work. Now, I’m paying it forward.
Powering up also builds resilience in your account, letting you earn more and support others with higher-value upvotes. It creates a win-win cycle of growth, sustainability, and community support.
Whether you're on Steem or Blurt, powering up is more than just an investment in your own success—it's a way to strengthen the platforms and create real impact for others. The more you grow, the more you can give back. And in these ecosystems, giving back is one of the fastest ways to grow.
So if you're new and wondering whether to power up or cash out, consider this: your long-term influence, earning power, and impact all start with that decision to invest in your account and the community around you.
