RE: "Steem(it) Is All About Trolls, Spam, Shitposts, Greed And Selfishness."
This is excellent. I joined in June 2016. I stayed for two weeks before leaving, disappointed not just in lack of rewards but in lack of interaction. I "knew" some others from other networks but it wasn't enough. I came back in November 2016 and almost immediately stumbled onto @Mariannewest's freewrite community. It was that that kept me here. Not the money. Yes occasionally I get curied but on the whole my posts are worth less than a dollar after over a year of active daily posting. I'm not complaining, just saying it ain't the money that keeps me here. How do we welcome people and help them integrate into the community? Perhaps with dapps bringing people in to Steem will be a step forward because people will start with a community, and then venture forth into steemland

Thank you. That's exactly my point. We meet and greet people with empty promises about luxury and cheesy success stories. It's no wonder people leave or are getting depressed and unmotivated. It all starts with the very basic. Luckily, for us, we have great communities out there teaching people "how to steem" properly. But I personally feel that it's being done in the wrong order.
People should be taught "how to steem" long before they get all these weird expectations, and Steem, Inc should obviously help them with that. I'm not saying that all of the responsibility lies on STINC, but they do have some responsibility.
