RE: STEEM MONSTERS at niTRon | And Why I Think Steem Stole The Show

in #steem6 years ago

Looks like a successful event and you had fun doing it. You said that there is a lack of marketing for steem and I think you are right on that score. However I think that before now it would have been a waste. As you saw with tron you can market all you want but once people look past the curtain and see no product it was all in vain.

Now we are in a better place to do it I think. We can on board people instantly without going through steemit. We have a strong core community willing to help out the new users and we have apps to keep them active as most people don't want to blog. The just want to use.

I think what you and the others have done here is a great marketing initiative as it targets the right user base. People who already have and interest and probably an investment in crypto. If we could keep doing this at other events with other steemians to showcase what we have here it could bring in the right people and get them talking. We are still not ready for the masses but I think we are ready to expand what we already have.

I agree with you on the masses thing, and I think good marketing can only do so much.. if the product is not good, the effort on marketing is a bit of a waste. I think we are definitely improving and while we may not be ready for the masses, I think taking the steps to work towards presenting ourselves in a way that will attract users is a something we can start on.

You’re right, we have so many other activities now other than just blogging and that will attract more and make them stay as well. Now if we could on work on our dependence of discord! That may be a small issues, but wouldn’t that be great?

Thanks for the comment and I hope to try to share more at these sorts of events, because as you said, they are already in the crypto world and should be a target user base for sure.

It would be great if we could combine the communities in discord with the steem blockchain. That would give us so many more tools to work with. Maybe at some stage?

I think you are right with your points here and for now it's all about bringing in the right users. A lot of people just aren't ready to use the chain as it's not very user friendly yet. However there have been huge steps made to make it better since I have joined and if we keep going at this rate it won't be long before those extra steps are removed and there are no barriers for people to use steem in the real world. Once we have that we are onto a winner.
