Steem News is back from a break while sc03 was occupying all my spare time.
Steemit Inc is recruiting Steem Reps again. The new Reps will now be responsible for Booming votes as well.
Today's Steem News also includes news about the Steem DAO, Games on Steem, Developer Updates, a new witness, Contests, and Steem Atlas...
1. All Change for Steem Reps & Booming
Steemit Inc have announced a new round of recruitment of Steem Representatives.
The twist this time is that the new Steem Reps will now be responsible for selecting the posts for support from the 1.7M SP @booming accounts.
The closing date for applications is Wednesday 21 May 2025...
There have been two applications so far...
2. The Steem DAO Gets Active
Previously the Steemit Improvement Project run by @the-gorilla was the only project being funded by the Steem DAO.
But in the last couple of months there has been a mini-explosion of projects receiving funding.
There are now four projects active and already receiving funding...
@futureshock / @hightouch is building Echelon, a sidechain built to integrate seamlessly with Steem - similar to the old Steem-Engine.
This sidechain will focus on enabling token creation, trading, and management, with functionalities that empower users to create, swap, buy, and sell tokens (including NFTs) using custom_json operations on the Steem blockchain.

@roadofrich is working on Cryptid Hunter, a P2E, mini Trading Card Game.
They have already built this game as a Telegram Mini App on the TON blockchain. Now they are developing a web version for the Steem blockchain...

@symbionts are working on improvements for the Steem Wallet...
[This project is receiving 136 SBD per day for 365 days]
@the-gorilla is continuing his work on modernising steemit.com for another year...

@alejos7ven / @steem-seven will be building a new video hosting and streaming platform called Speak on Steem...

@justyy will be working on fixing Steemd build dependencies...
[This project will receive 123.456 SBD per day for 236 days]
Additionally @rme has taken the initiative to establish a DAO Reserve Fund to fund smaller projects that might find it difficult to access DAO funding through the usual process. This will fund projects for up to 100SBD per day...
[This project is receiving 300 SBD per day for 3651 days]
There are a number of proposals that have not yet received sufficient support to receive funding from the DAO.
