"SLC27-W1 | A One-Day Street Journalist: Festival-centric business."
How are you all? I hope you are well and I am well too. Today I will share with you about a food shop next to the festival. Today I will share with you about an Islamic festival in the mosque and a food shop next to the mosque where various types of food are sold. The mosque is located at Zero Point of Daganbhuiyan Upazila of our Feni district. The name of this mosque is Daganbhuiyan Central Jame Mosque. When any kind of Islamic festival is held in the mosque, such food shops are set up inside the Central Jame Mosque. Today I will introduce to you about the food shop. It is about a fruit juice shop where a very healthy fruit juice is sold through a mix of different types of fruits and different things.
01. What are the Festival-centric businesses in your area?
When a religious event is held in a mosque, there are different types of shops centered around that religious event. The types of shops are a little different. Let me share with you a little bit. If there is a religious festival in a place or in a mosque, the types of shops that are located around it are different types of food shops. In addition, there are different types of halal sherbet shops, halal product shops. In addition, there are different types of head hats, tasbeehs, perfumes, and Islamic items. Today, I will share with you about the shops located next to the mosque. There were several shops there, one of which is a perfume, tasbeeh, and Islamic clothing shop. And next to it were two more shops, which were selling different types of healthy foods such as black cumin, honey, oil, olive oil, different types of dry food, etc. In addition, another shop was selling sherbet. Tokma grains, isabgul husk, honey, and different types of fruits are used in sherbet.

2. Have you ever bought anything from these stores? Show pictures + videos and show their prices.
Yes, of course I bought a sherbet from the shop next to this mosque. The sherbet was very tasty. Those who came to the event here to perform ablution at the side behind the mosque and to finish their personal work all came here and ate this sherbet. Because this sherbet shop is inside the ablution room behind the mosque. The ablution room is very large and there is a path for people to move around in the market. That is why when there is a program or festival in the mosque, these food and various goods shops are located next to the ablution room. The sherbet I bought contained various types of fruits such as bananas, apples, pomegranate cherries, etc. This fruit sherbet is so tasty in our area that when there is an Islamic program in this mosque, people from the entire market come to eat this sherbet. The shopkeeper of the sherbet shop is a very famous sherbet seller here. He himself is also a Huzoor. Apart from that, he sells this sherbet when there is a festival here and also sells various types of dry food.

03. Why are people more attracted to street stalls during festivals?
During any festival, people are full of joy and happiness and the shops on the streets become a medium for that joy and happiness. After visiting these shops on the streets, people's joy is further fulfilled by shopping. Moreover, when they go to different places and enjoy that little bit, they buy small things from those shops and eat different types of food. That is also a part of the joy. These shops have things that actually attract people very easily. Many clothes of different colors and colorful food are sold in different types of shops sitting next to the festival. Moreover, these shops give people the joy of sudden shopping while walking in the crowd and noise of the festival. Buying a little something while walking with family or friends increases the joy of the festival. Therefore, people are easily attracted to street shops in the moment of festival excitement.

04. Are these businesses contributing to preserving local culture?
The stalls set up at the festival are not only for buying and selling or doing business but also have a great impact on the local history and culture. The business of sitting next to the festival brings history to life. The stalls set up next to the festival sell various types of goods that make different things from the old days, food and everything. The modern young generation of today's society is leaning towards modernity day by day. Such pur no food stalls and various types of stalls set up next to the festival remind us of the past days. The stalls set up next to the festival then present different types of history in front of them and present cultural things that help to keep them alive. During the festival, these businesses create a kind of social connection between people. When people wander through the street stalls and taste local food or buy handicrafts, they are not only shopping but also taking the tradition to heart as part of their culture. The stalls set up next to the festival are not only an economic activity but also an invaluable means of preserving, promoting and passing on local culture to future generations.
