I am here to join 1st week of Steemit Challenge 27, for my participation in @max-pro "SLC27-W1 | A One-Day Street Journalist: Festival-centric business." I agree it's something rare for me but here I am.
The festival I am presenting is not a short-term festival but goes on for one month every year. However, my emphasis on food even if other businesses also have their presence.
This festival helps increase infrastructure and investment. This festival helps investment in local infrastructure, such as increased parking, shuttle services, and public accessibility in municipal limits.
What are the festival-centric businesses in your area?
By the way, this country has no street festivals, barring a few like Mardi Gras, which will be held soon. But I was in Floriade 2025, Canberra, this Sunday and enjoyed my trip, but before I give you the pics and video, let me say it takes place annually in Canberra’s Commonwealth Park, transforming it into a spectacular celebration of flowers and garden design.
So you can say, there are two few such festive related businesses here so Floriade flower show is special
I have been coming here since 2019, barring the Covid period, and although the design and settings are different, the flowers are the same.
Would you believe these flowers are brought here from different parts of the country?
That sounds like a wonderful experience! Floriade 2025 in Canberra is known for its vibrant displays of spring flowers and lively atmosphere with events, food stalls, and cultural activities. My visit gave me an excellent chance to enjoy the peak blooms and festive crowds.

The 2025 event featured a theme focusing on sustainability and community, with diverse floral displays, workshops, live performances, and family-friendly activities.
Visitors Enjoy here walking through tulip beds, daffodils, and themed gardens and eating, drinking, and having joy rides. I have done that several times, but today I will show you the pictures and videos only.
People also enjoy live music.

Why are people more attracted to street stalls during festivals?
People from all over the world are drawn to flowers and also the food stalls during the Floriade festival for several reasons.
They look at the crowd and admire them because they look so attractive, which makes them central attraction along with flowers.
Don't you feel they look no less than the flower display?
I miss street stalls like back home in India, which offer a vibrant environment that complements the festive setting of such festivals, so when I come here, I kind of feel the same at Floriade.
The flowers and these stalls encourage visitors to socialize, explore, and enjoy a variety of foods in an outdoor setting.
The open-air theater gives an extra joy and leisurely experience, and if you add all this, this festival makes a wonderful atmosphere.
You know there are specific highlights and memories from my visit that stand out; describing them could bring back even more of this spring atmosphere!
I would like to say that Floriade 2025 is a significant economic driver for Canberra, making a major impact across tourism, hospitality, and local business sectors. The festival not only brings in substantial visitor spending but also catalyzes job creation, partnerships, and city branding efforts.
Are these businesses contributing to preserving local culture?
Sure, this one-month-long exhibition of flowers brings tourism and economy a major impact. For your information, according to the official sources Floriade 2025 has brought around $62.4 million into the capital territory's economy so far, which is a significant increase over previous years and still counting.
This will attribute $50 million directly to tourists from interstate and overseas, marking the festival’s economic impact. You know this is one of the greatest flower festivals held anywhere in the world.
Let me add that so far 500,000 people have already attended, and most of them are traveling from outside Canberra. The festival increased visitor nights by 31%, directly benefiting local hotels, restaurants, and transport operators.
Canberra’s accommodation industry will gain significantly, with hotels curating special Floriade packages and promotions. These partnerships extended benefits to the city’s wider hospitality sector, including wineries, retailers, and artisan producers.
Conclusion
This annual function of the flower show benefits local businesses in multiple ways, as they enjoy an uptrend in all businesses, therefore, their cash flow increases during the festival period. Hotels, cafes, and market stalls which are local traders and retail shops, transport providers, and event services see a higher demand.
Actually this annual function is a strategic partnership and branding therefore, Floriade’s presenting partners, such as "All Homes" and YWCA Canberra, amplify this festival’s profile, delivering public relations value and enhancing the visitor experience.
All said and done, I have seen Ausies are food lover so when they find good food in such beautiful surroundings, they spend like anything.

I am telling you this because in this country privacy is prime, so no trader wants to give an interview to private persons as such. They are bound in a contract, so it is not possible to take an interview or shoot a video from inside a business; therefore, I will give you my personal view.
The Australian capital government and city tourism authorities have always supported to their best the success of Floriade to promote Canberra as an all-weather travel destination, increasingly bundling spring experiences with summer tours and festivals to increase business activity.
Community floral displays and satellite events across Canberra suburbs have broadened the festival’s reach, distributing economic benefits and attendance beyond Commonwealth Park.
Floriade 2025 will definitely help Canberra’s ability to use this festival to generate economic momentum, create jobs, support community spirit, and brand itself as an innovative, vibrant, and welcoming city for visitors all year.
