How are you all? I hope you are well. By the grace of God, I am also well today. I have come to share with you SLC26-W4 | Street Business Diaries: Service-based professions. Thank you, @max-pro brother, for organising such a beautiful competition.
In today's competition, I will share some experiences of the barber shop that are relevant to me. Now it is the end of the month, and we all have received our salary, and we have to go to the barber to cut our hair and beard, so we four friends went to the barber today at six in the evening and cut our hair and beard, and so I talked to them here and took pictures and video. So I am going to start my post.
First, I went to the barber shop in our local market, the Ruposhi area, and we have been cutting hair in this shop for the last seven years, and we have a good relationship with it. The name of this salon shop is Abdullah New Model Hair Style. Seven years ago, when we were a little younger, we used to cut our hair with a lot of steel, and now that we are married and a little older, we don't style our hair like we used to; now we just cut it in a normal way which looks a little more polite.
At first, we were four friends sitting in the shop and chatting because we had more serials to cut our hair before. When I was taking pictures of my friends and taking pictures of the barber at the barber shop, our friends and the barber shop owner were laughing and saying, 'What are you doing taking pictures of us?' What is your job? Then I shared the matter with them, and they were happy.
Then out of our four friends, two of our friends got their hair cut; I and the one you see in the picture with me got their hair cut, and their two shops cut hair together, so we got our hair cut at another shop so that we could get it done quickly.
And they use sophisticated machines for hair cutting, but the whole head is not cut with the help of machines; only the hair around the head is cut short, and the beard is cut short, and the rest of the parts are beautified with the help of hand scissors, and here all the creams and powders from our local market are used, which are made in our country; there are no foreign products here.
Recently another friend of ours got his hair cut, beard cut and face facial done, and he looks very beautiful, and I played a lot of pranks with him, saying that if he comes every day and does his face facial, then he can maintain his beauty, and his wife will love him a lot. Because we boys always work in the sun, dust and dirt leave a dark spot on our faces. If we do facials once a week, then I think our men will also look handsome.
What kind of service-based profession is in highest demand in your area? (Barber, mechanic, watch/glass repairer, van ice cream seller, etc.)
There is always a demand for service-based professions in my area, such as barber-like autorickshaw repair, bicycle repair, motorcycle repair, private car repair, everything, and there are ice cream sellers in vans. Not only glasses and watch repairer; I am also a mechanic myself. I fix many things for people. I do wiring work for the autorickshaws that ply in my area, like headlights, sidelights, indicators, and room lights. These are the things I do.
Have you ever used these services yourself or bought any? Show pictures and videos and show prices.
Video Tutorial: To better understand the practical part of this tutorial, you can watch the video below.
Yes, I have used these services myself, and they are always with our daily lives; we can't go without them at any time. And I went to the barber shop today. I got my hair cut and talked to them there. I took photographs, and below I am sharing a video.
Were you satisfied at the end of the work, or were you ever disappointed?
I am always satisfied with the work they do, but there are some mechanical things like watches. It works from them; you can't always be satisfied. After a few days of fixing the watch, it breaks again, or the pin breaks immediately, or the battery breaks, and you have to go to the mechanic to get it working again. Sometimes you have to be disappointed. But from most of the work, we are satisfied with the services.
Are people grateful for the work of the shopkeeper? If you have personal experience, then let us know.
People are always grateful for the work of the shopkeeper. I am talking from my personal experience, and I talked to them because today I went to the barber shop. I talked to them happily and never asked them how they live their daily life and how they serve people and how they earn income and whether they are able to function properly, but today I talked to them according to the contest.
I got a lot of experience talking to the barbers in the salon shop; they told me that their monthly expenses for a small shop are 7 to 8 thousand taka, including rent. And they have two people working here, and each of them has to earn 25,000 to 30,000 taka per month; if they do not earn, they will suffer. Sometimes, if the market situation is good, they earn 25,000 to 30,000 taka per month, and sometimes, if the market is bad, they will suffer.
And by talking to them, I have also learnt that they spend a lot of money to buy trimmer machines, shaving foam, blades, tissues and various cosmetics inside the shop, and they spend a lot of money on renting the shop, and currently the prices of all the things are high. They shared these words with us, but they can live well with the money they earn, and now there are many salon shops in every corner of the area, so now everyone's income is a little less. Earlier, there were only salon shops in the market, and a barber shop was always crowded to get a haircut, and now, everyone is taking hair cutting training and is working as a hair cutting shop in their own shop, and they are also earning a good income from this.
