What kind of street food is available in your city or area

‎In my area, one unique street food setup stands out every Sunday. While most food vendors attend church on Sundays, one smart woman noticed the opportunity and filled the gap — offering tasty homemade meals right outside the market. She sells simple but delicious plates like white rice with palm oil stew, beans, spaghetti, and local meats like gbomo (cow skin).

Have you eaten these foods yourself?

‎Absolutely. My friends and I eat from her regularly on Sundays. Sometimes, it’s not even hunger that draws us in — the aroma alone is too inviting to resist. Her food is fresh, rich, and served hot.

‎Here’s a breakdown of the prices:

‎- Rice: ₦300
‎- Beans: ₦200
‎- Spaghetti: ₦200
‎- Meat: ₦200
‎- Gbomo: ₦100

‎It’s affordable, filling, and worth every naira. As low as N500-N1000.

What did you learn about the shopkeeper's struggle?

‎She’s a single mother of two girls, both still in secondary school. On weekdays, she sells fresh pepper in the market. But on Sundays, she transforms into a food vendor. She came up with this idea after noticing that people needed ready-made food while regular vendors were at church. She cooks early, sets up by morning, and serves a long queue of hungry customers — all in one day’s hustle. Her consistency and smart thinking show just how resourceful she is.

What do you think about the importance of these small street food businesses in our society?

‎I know you'll agree with me that the first thing that should come into your mind is that they offer good and services. Imagine have a busy day and you hardly cook, you can still get food from this street food even on Sunday. Most people hardly cook this days because of high cost of food stuff and ordering food from food vendors might be the affordable ways to deal with you.

‎Personal looking at this woman, she play a powerful role in our community or should I say our streets. She don’t just fill our stomachs — she support her family, and add color to everyday life. This is to remind everyone of us that Small food businesses are proof that opportunity is everywhere, especially when you focus on what people need most.

‎If you’re thinking of starting something, don’t just copy others — look around, listen, and meet a need. That’s where real business starts.

‎This her Sunday hustle might look small, but to me it carries big lessons — about survival, wander to look for food when I know I have someone like her_ a sure plug. Her story reminded me that no idea is too small to succeed — as long as you act on it.

Street Food vendors are really trying, but buying food from a street vendors is what I don't like patronising in most local places. I can see how the food is being enjoyed. Good luck to you
