Childhood is a time of play and learning. The experiences of this time play an important role in shaping the future educational life and character. Children learn to read mainly through play with the help of colors, pictures, letters, numbers and various types of toys. The use of educational toys has now become very popular in our society. Therefore, various educational materials and toys are available in small shops around the school. Recently, I went to a teddy bear and toy shop located near the school in our area. The shop had various colorful toys, educational materials and interesting products. Although I did not buy anything, I learned a lot by observing the shop and talking to the shopkeeper. Below I am presenting my experience in the light of the questions.
What is the most in-demand educational product for children near schools in your area?
When I visited this shop next to the school, I noticed that the most in demand for children are educational toys. Parents today try to make their children learn to read with joy. And that is why toy-based educational materials are sold the most.

Young children recognize Bengali and English letters and learn to count while playing with blocks. Parents also like these more. By playing with different shapes and sizes, children become attentive, learn patience, and acquire problem-solving skills. These are quite popular for those who love to draw. Children get creative through drawing and enjoy the world of colors. Teddy bears are children's best friends. Although they are not directly educational, they play a role in mental development. Children talk to teddy bears, tell stories, and express emotions. Toys that play songs and music are interesting for children. They get acquainted with melodies and rhythms.
Overall, although this store carries educational toys and entertainment products, the most popular items for school-going children are block sets, puzzles, and drawing materials.

I went to the store, but didn't buy anything. However, when I went there this evening, I took some pictures and videos there. I also talked to the shopkeeper and found out the prices of several products.
The prices of some products are mentioned below—
Medium-sized teddy bear – about 450 taka
Letter and number block set – about 300 taka
Simple wooden/plastic puzzle board – about 200 taka
Small musical toy – about 250 taka
Although the store is small, as soon as you enter, you will see a world of colorful toys. Teddy bears of different shapes, sizes and colors, decorated block sets, and attractive puzzle boards were arranged one after another. Although I didn't buy anything, it was clear that children would be happy to enter this store.

Have you noticed any changes in your child's learning after using the store's products?
I have not had direct experience as I have not bought anything from the store myself. However, in general, according to the experiences of parents and the opinions of educators, it can be said that there are positive changes in children's learning after using these educational toys.
Children recognize letters at a young age, learn to count. When solving puzzles, children become attentive, learn to distinguish between right and wrong, and become patient. Children's creativity and imagination develop. Children's hearing and awareness of melody and rhythm increase. It plays a role in the emotional development of children. After overcoming loneliness, children often play with teddy bears as friends or tell stories. All in all, these toys arouse children's interest in learning and make their studies enjoyable.
Do you think these small shops in society are contributing to the education and happiness of children?
Yes, I firmly believe that such small shops are making an important contribution to the education and happiness of children in the society.
Because in our society, parents can buy the necessary educational materials from nearby shops without going far. The prices are lower than in big shops, so even ordinary families can buy them.
These toys make children's education enjoyable. Children are interested in learning through play. Such shops make children's childhood beautiful and create an educationally friendly environment in the area. Through these toys, children's knowledge, imagination, creativity and problem-solving skills increase, which is useful for them in the future.
To sum up, small toy shops around schools have become not just a business, but a source of education and joy for children in the society. Although I did not buy anything from the shop, I still understood from observation that the contribution of these shops to the mental development of children, interest in education and daily happiness is immense. There is no way to deny the need for such shops to make children's childhood beautiful.
