Bountiful harvest from my small farm
**What motivated to plant this casava **
There was a time I went to farm to harvest cassava after the harvest I decided to take one stem from the farm to plant somewhere near our house.
The stem that produced all the casava
When did you plant it?
I planted it around February 2023 and left it to grow. Normally casava is been harvested every year so that you can be able to replant for the coming year but I never allowed anybody to touch this particular one I planted even when the are complaining that it will decay. Early season for planting cassava is usually February and march, late planting begins from June and July but those who plant early are likely to start harvesting theirs by October and November.
Why is it harvested by October and why did you leave yours for long?
It is been harvested early to avoid decay and many people harvest it early because of hunger and they don't have what to eat. But because my own is just one root, I allowed it to decay and grow again because if it decay bigger ones grow out. The more it decay the more the bigger seed and I left mine for two years, the result was massive.
What did you turn the cassava into?
Cassava has many things you can turn it to but I decided to turn mine to fufu. You can use cassava for garri production, abacha, etc and the slicing is different from another.
