The incident shocked many residents who gathered helplessly, watching as rescue teams struggled to save lives from the rubble. This heartbreaking tragedy once again reminds us of the dangers of negligence in building construction and the urgent need for stricter safety standards in our society.
How the Building Collapsed
According to eyewitnesses, the building, which was still under construction, began to shake and produce cracking sounds around mid-morning before it suddenly gave way. Within seconds, the entire structure collapsed, trapping workers and passersby beneath the debris. Rescue operations immediately commenced as emergency response teams, local volunteers, and security agencies rushed to the scene. Heavy machinery and manual tools were used to search through the wreckage, while anxious family members stood by, praying for their loved ones.
Causes of the Building Collapse
From initial investigations and expert opinions, several factors likely contributed to this unfortunate collapse. The major causes pointed out include:
