I use digital writing more often than handwriting. I engage and chat with friends on social media, I write and submit my Steemit articles digitally, and I also take some notes in meetings and church services digitally using my Android phone.

I love technology very much but handwriting helps better in retention, expression and learning than digital writing. This is because handwriting involves the use of psychomotor skills which encourages conceptual understanding and retention as the writer engages more actively with the material. It also improves spelling accuracy and concentration, especially in post-primary, where the student or writer has to summarize what they heard and synthesize.

Yes, schools should still initiate handwriting in this digital age. This is because it will help the learners to master the act of writing as they engage their psychomotor skills which in turn help them to improve their spelling. It also enhances their understanding and retention.

The advantage of digital writing is that gadgets have software to correct spelling and restructure sentences, saves time and energy. On the other hand, it can lead to Poor memory retention and laziness.

Handwriting
The advantages of handwriting are that it improves memory retention and encourages the use of psychomotor skills and reading comprehension. On the other hand, it is difficult to dictate errors it's time-consuming and Difficult for others to read when the handwriting is bad.
