Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 110: Family Moments

Well, some people might think that family is just people that we live with. Father,mother,siblings, maybe Grandma that always shout your name from the backyard. But wait first. One day, you just sit down, eat your delicious rice, and one small question land on your mind:

“What really make this family special?”

You can think that “We always eat together,” but your mind will flash back to that time when you were sick or any of the family member was sick. You will remember how mum and Dad had no sleep for three days. You will remember how your uncle sell his phone to buy drugs. As soon as possible, you will surely realize that family is not just people that are in the house — the family in all, is the backbone.

No doubt, the very best and important thing about my family is that we always stand strong and confidential for each other. If one person is down, everybody will join hand to lift him. If one person is happy,the joy and happiness will spread like jollof rice to everyone.

One time, my sister fail jamb. She cry so much. But instead of my dad to shout at him, he hug her and calm her down. Mum cook her favourite meal. We all sit down and talk about her next step. That kind support is very rare. It's shows me that love is very strong than result. My family will still love you, stand strong besides you,even when you have surely mess up.

One funny memory that is still on my head like sticker is that time we went to the village. As we reach, my cousins were already waiting with football and enough of mango. However we later begin to play match with slippers as goalpost. My uncle that doesn't know how to play football fall inside a small gutter While trying to dribble one of my cousin,we all couldn't control the laugh,and he laughs too.

That night, we did a talent show. My small cousin sister sing like she is American singer. My Grandma back then dance azonto dance. My aunty try to rap — but we beg her to stop, because it was really funny. After sometime we'll spend,my mum and my sister later brings in a lovely meal which we enjoyed and shared together that night.

However I have learned that life is a journey, it's not a race. My dad always says, “Dont rush, so that you won't crash.” Truly, that advice really help me now when I struggle with work activities and life trauma.

I also learn how to respect people. For our house, even little children can greet well. Seriously,in a very young age i have learned different methods of how to cook different meals from my mom and my grandma back then, how to save money, how to pray, I also learn how to forgive people and forget. Truth be told, my family is my first teacher in this life — and the lesson i have learned from them haven't finish.

Well, I'll to spend more time together. These days, everybody in the house is busy. Work, school, phone — all of it steal our time. But anytime we sit down together in the evening, even if it's just to eat our dinner and gist, it's always very sweet.

I will also like for us to travel more. And our next target should be zoo. So that we can just create new memories. Life it's short though, but can say that family moment really last long.
