It's already week 6, and I'm back participating in the final challenge. I hope this post meets your expectations, so let's get started.

Before I answer all the questions in the contest post, allow me to provide a simple introduction to film, based on my personal opinion.

For me, film is a way of expressing myself through video and audio. The resulting combination creates a work of art that conveys information, messages, and impressions to those who watch it. Please excuse any errors, as this is my personal opinion.

So, it's natural that films can reflect identity, culture, or even experience. Ultimately, this becomes entertainment, divided into several genres. Now, I'll answer each contest tip simply.

Watch a movie that reflects a part of your identity, culture, or experience

I'm not sure if the films I watched in 2025 reflected my identity, culture, or experiences, but I think they did.

From January to July 2025, I watched at least five films from various genres. These included dramas, animation, horror, and action. However, to answer the question above, perhaps these two films are among them:

  • Sayap Sayap Patah [Broken Wings], showing in 2022 but I only got to watch it this year, Indonesian action film.

  • Squid Game season 3, showing in June 2025, South Korean Series.

Mention 5 things from the movie that motivated you to keep pushing in life

Almost every film has positive takeaways, as there's always something valuable to be gleaned from what happens in a film.

If I had to name five motivational takeaways from the two films I've watched, they would be:

Sayap-Sayap Patah [Broken Wings] True story in Indonesia
  • Love and sacrifice are proof of life that can lift us up.
  • Every sacrifice is actually the beginning of happiness.
  • Nationalism is the best thing as a citizen.
  • Mental strength will make us grow; pain is a process of strengthening the mind.
  • Separation is not the end of life; we must rise and continue life with enthusiasm.

Squid Game season 3
  • Human values are far more valuable than anything else.
  • Victory is the reward for those who are willing to fight, not give up.
  • Failure becomes an experience, not a ruin for the future.
  • Fear sometimes gives birth to courage.
  • Silence is not the best way to survive.

Who was your favorite character? And why?

In the film "Sayap-Sayap Patah," there's one of my favorite characters: "Nani," played by Indonesian actress Ariel Tatum. She's the wife of "Adji," played by Nicholas Saputra, a polluter who died while confronting terrorists.

This character is my favorite because she's a deeply emotional, steadfast, and strong wife who endures trials. She lost her husband just after giving birth to their child.

Meanwhile, in Squid Game season 3, I definitely liked the character "Seong Gi-hun," also known as Player 456, played by Lee Jung-jae. He carries a major mission to uncover the atrocities he experienced and wants to end all these inhumane games.

His character is crucial in this film, giving meaning to all the struggles against evil, even though he ultimately has to die for humane reasons.

Mention at least 2 movies you have seen this year that inspired you and why they did

As I mentioned at the outset, the two films I'm sharing with you are both films that convey positive life values. Both can also inspire everyone who watches them, not just as entertainment, but also for the values they convey.

To clarify these two films, they are Sayap-Sayap Patah (Broken Wings) and Squid Game season 3.

Thank you for participating in this challenge of season 25.

It's interesting to know that the two films you have seen left you with things to think about, more like motivation.

I really wanted to see a personal touch you had with the two movies you said reflected your identity, culture or experience. I mean to share the parts of the movie that reflected your life.
