Hola Amigos 💚

We often hear the word gluttony tossed around, usually when someone takes a third or fourth plate of food. But gluttony goes beyond just loving food.
It's a deep, unhealthy desire to consume more than what is necessary or reasonable and not just with food but anything we indulge in excessively. it's basically a mindset.A craving.A hunger that is endless.Amd most times we joke or laugh when someone eats too much. And I'd like to say that unless we name it and face it ,it keeps growing like a fire without brakes.

EXPLAIN GLUTTONY AND HOW A PERSON WITH SUCH BEHAVIORS CAN BE IDENTIFIED.

Gluttony is the habit of over indulging, mostly in food but sometimes in other things like luxury, music or even attention. it's more than overeating.its that uncontrollable urge to keep consuming even when your body and mind is screaming "Enough". It might look harmless on the outside, but I dare say deep down it could be symptoms of emotional emptiness, anxiety. Some people just want to feel full always. There are ways to identify this in ourselves or even others.
🔹The person eats out of habit, not necessarily hunger.
🔹 Constant feeling of irritation or discomfort when there's nothing sweet to chew on.
🔹Eats secretly or guiltily
🔹Puts good above all else

DO YOU THINK A GLUTTONOUS PERSON CAN BE LIKENED TO JUST FOOD AND DRINKS? EXPLAIN

I honestly do not think gluttony can be likened to just eating and eating and drinking.its not just when a person is eating meat at 1.am or sneaking steaks under their pillow.its anyone whose appetite controls them instead of the other way round.A person can be gluttonous with social media, Netflix series, attention, possession.
Gluttony is really about needing or being addicted to excess although food is the easiest to spot.
In conclusion here, where the desire to have more drowns your ability to be more , that's gluttony.

WHAT IS YOUR VIEW OF THIS?DO YOU THINK IT'S A NATURAL SITUATION OR SOMETHING INE CAN MANAGE OR CONTROL?TELL US?

This question is a bit tricky. But if like to ask "when last did you feel empty...but food wasn't the solution?"
I believe gluttony can have natural roots, like emotional trauma, stress or even medical conditions like eating disorder.
Sometimes people overeat or over indulge because it comforts them in moments of pain or anxiety.Food becomes a friend,A quick escape. It becomes a problem when coping mechanism becomes a cage.
But good news is that it can be beaten, not easily but possible.
Like every other habit,it can be retrained or rewired if we can just train our mind to pause before asking for another plate ,or rebuild emotional strength so good is no longer a therapy or instead of consumption we start to connect, talk to people, create ,move, pray, dance.
It's like training the muscle. The more self control we exercise, the stronger it becomes.

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR PEOPLE WHO FIND THEMSELVES IN SUCH A CONDITION.

Firstly,I would say don't beat yourself up;you're human.
Admit that there's a problem, then take steps to fix it..small steps of course.
Eat when hungry not bored or stressed.if it feels too hard, talk to someone..a doctor or therapist.
And discipline yourself to not overindulge.

Gluttony may start with food but if sometimes signals something else.
I'll like to invite @imohmitch,@davidmark and @precious9 to share what they think.
