It is not all movies that become well-known immediately after being released, as some movies do take years before trending. However, for a movie to trend, it is either because the movie is so interesting or it is well-marketed. Here in this post, I have shared the five lesser-known or underrated movies that I have so far watched.

Here is my list of five lesser-known or underrated movies that I have seen before. I do think these movies deserve to be well-known based on how interesting I find them, but I cannot fully talk about how others find them.

• Dazzling Mirage: I think the reason why this movie is less known or underrated is because it didn't receive wide recognition when it was released, and it is because it emphasizes more about the story of a young woman who was suffering from sickle cell. I think the movie should get widespread recognition as it emphasizes more about the issues affecting the health system in Nigeria and the world at large.

• October 1: This movie contains rich historical context and suspense, which a lot of people aren't aware of, yet despite all this, the movie isn't popular. However, I think the movie should gain widespread recognition as it focuses on Nigeria's independence.

• Ojuju: Despite being the first zombie movie of Nigeria, the movie isn't popular because it is full of criticism. Well, I think the movie deserves to be well-known for its original display of horror that looks real.

• Isoken: This movie won some awards, but still it didn't become as popular as it was supposed to be for the awards, and less romantic. However, I think the movie should have become popular as it emphasizes more on societal issues affecting women.

• Slow Country: This movie has less commercial impact in the movie industry as it received some criticism, but despite this, it could have been popular for its story that talks about prostitution and drug trafficking.

What do you think can be done to make these movies better known or valued more?

What I think can be done to make these movies better known or valued more is promotion, which has to do with marketing the movie, and adding the movie to streaming platforms for those in other countries to see. Promote the movie on social media for awareness.
