Life as a University of uyo Student: The Story I Carry
Hello amazing steemit family and my amazing people of Nigeria, today I want to share my experience as a student and what happened in my school recently.
During January last year, I was desperately looking for an outstanding university to enroll myself for my BSc degree. All my university choices were very expensive but outstanding.
I opened my browser and tapped "cheap university with a fast academic calendar."
The first recommended university was the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The good write-up under it inspired me, and I went forward making inquiries about the school.
I fell in love with the school without even knowing how the school gate or environment looked, talk more of the school system. I didn't even have any relatives or friends in Akwa Ibom State.
When the JAMB form came out for sale, I purchased the form and filled in the University of Uyo as my first choice. God did it for me; I was given admission among the first list and the first three people in my department. It was a special day in my life.
I completed my requirements and did the screening. I started attending classes as a fresher. I don't miss a class, and I'm always first to submit assignments.
My first day at the university was like a dream come true.
I was happy. I didn't even behave like a fresher. I trek to school and use the sign board to locate my faculty and department.
Because I was afraid of being bullied or "fresher spotted," many of my friends and coursemates were bullied. I use my map wherever I go because if you ask for directions, the senior comrades will mislead you before you realize it is too late.
Yes, the University of Uyo is one of the best universities in Nigeria. I can proudly say that with proof. Uniuyo has learned lecturers who are really committed to their obligations.
The learning environment is so peaceful and secured.
Very disciplined students that are eager to learn new things, very intelligent and hardworking.
Yes, the school system has a fast academic calendar and is very affordable.
Every fee we pay in the school is very affordable, be it hostel fee, clearance fee, tuition fee, etc.
University is an amazing school, no doubt.
Our last semester examination was very smooth and successful. It was handwriting, and our results came out very fast, especially my department.
But the school management decided to use CBT this semester to write exams, when they fully know the large amount of students that are writing exams, when we don't have enough facilities to carry out this mission. Exam started, it was CBT, it was very terrible. Students were fainting, some had their phones stolen, some systems malfunctioned. I didn't tell you I experienced system malfunction during one paper. I had finished my exam, and I was about to submit it and leave when the system got disconnected from heaven knows where.
The technician came, fixed it, and my answers wiped off. I had 5 mins remaining. I started crying, my hands were vibrating. I was afraid of failure because I really studied, I put in my best, now technical issues want to mess me up. I couldn't tick all the answers within 5 mins. I cried so that people carried me and were consoling me, the fear of failure not because I didn't study, but because of the University of Uyo system.
That was my first worst experience as a student, in fact, that particular course I hand it over to God, because He makes impossible things become possible.
I hope the University of uyo will address this challenge soon.
Thank you for going through my post and blog. I hope to get feedback

My dear it is not easy to pass through this challenge of being a university student, education is when you taste it and understand the the betternes in it but after all stress am struggling the joy comes on the graduation day.
That is Why they said education is the key, you most used it to open your future life and even in vocational studies it still the same.
But at Last there will be a joyful celebration.
Yes oooo there will be a joy at the end, thank you for reading my post.
