First impression!

When I saw this contest topic"First impression," I knew I had something to share. I might be late to the party, but this one spoke to me not just because I've had many experiences, but because I strongly believe that first impressions are not only about how others appear to us, but how we show up to others too.

Sometimes, we're quick to judge people based on how they look, talk,or act the first time we meet them, but we forget that we're also someone's first impression. The energy we give out, how we speak to people,our facial expressions,and even the little things like greeting someone properly all matter.

What does "First impression" mean to me?

To me, first impression means the immediate feeling or judgement people make when you meet them. It can be formed in seconds, and sometimes, it's hard to erase or change.

But here's the thing: first impression doesn't always give the full story.
Some people have bad days. Some are shy. Others are just not great at opening up immediately. So yes, first impressions matter, but I also believe second chances matter too.

A Real Experience

I remember meeting someone recently, a classmate. The first time we spoke, she came off as proud and uninterested. I tried having a conversation, and her responses were dry. In my mind, I was like, "Okay, noted." But months later, I got to know her better,and she turned out to be one of the kindest,most helpful people I've met. She just doesn't warm up to people fast. That taught me a big lesson: don't write people off too quickly.

But also, let's talk about us.

Most people think "first impression" means how you judge others, but honestly,it starts from how you present yourself.

How do you talk to people?
Do you smile when greeting someone for the first time?
Do you carry yourself with confidence or look uninterested?

Sometimes, we're the ones making a bad first impression without realizing it. I've had to work on mine too, being more open, approachable,and not to appear rude even when I'm tired or shy.

How can people make a good first impression?

Be yourself, but be kind. You don't have to fake anything, just be respectful and warm.

Smile and make eye contact. It sounds simple, but it goes a long way.

Dress neatly. You don't need expensive clothes, just look clean and presentable.

Be polite. Greet properly,say "please" and "thank you"

Don't be too quick to judge others. Give room for growth or bad days.

In summary,first impressions really do matter, but they go both ways. It's not just about what we think of others, it's also about the version of ourselves we present to the world.
And while we should do our best to leave a good impression, we should also have space in our hearts to look beyond first moments.
