Your Fine Farmer Boy...

Oh yeah! Your fine farmer boy is here again, I think it has been a while since I posted anything about agriculture, well I took a long break off everything that has to do with farming for now to enjoy myself but guess what? I'm resuming the activity soonest...
I mean why won't I resume when I've missed the dress greens I get from it each time I visit the farm I manage. In my opinion, farmers that know what they are really doing should spend less on feeding. These few weeks running for close to a month that I took this break, I've been buying stuff I get from the farm for free especially fresh vegetables..
We have quite a number of these leaves in the farm which includes waterleaf, pumpkin, scent leaves and some other edibles vegetables leaves.

When you're a farmer blessed with more than enough land for cultivation, you will barely go hungry because if such land is well maximized, you should be having your food produced. Farmers are actually producers who have the potential of producing what can sustain them and sustain the society...this is based on the kind of farming the farmer chooses to practice.

Oh have you heard of livestock farming, anyways this is another aspect where farmers/intending farmers can also look into to make money, it's just that it is more demanding in terms of time, money and attention. Since these animals are living things, you would have to care for them like you care for humans with breath in their lungs.
For us, our focus is on Pig, so I can say we are into piggery. I'm sure the pigs in the farm would have missed me because we already have this bond connecting us, lols. I visit the farm at least twice a week and on other days any that because of the distance. On most of those days, I go with their feed which last for a week or two...

Yea, these animals eat like their lives depend on it, well, in the real sense, their lives really depend on it. The truth is, if you're going into livestock farming such as piggery, you have to be prepared to spend and be spent and if you want to venture into it without being choked you have to go small, then scale as you begin to increase your capacity.
Piggery has a way of pushing you to expand, because they give birth to many piglets even at their first trial. What I'm saying is that, that your female pig you're start with can give birth to 6 or even 10 piglets at her very first attempt to becoming a mother, at this point you know you're now in for a serious task which would demand from you a whole lot especially financially.
If you are able to pull through maintaining the whole of the livestock then you should be able to sell at a very massive profit in the next 4-5 months depending on what you really want to achieve with their weight and size
Oh I think I just inspired someone with this little lecture about piggery...this is me just trying to tell how much I've missed this activity of mine and how I intend resuming soon since I'm now back from the moon called honey I went for weeks...lols
Just before I leave, let me leave you with a snippet of one of our pigs that dropped some piglets sometime ago, it was actually a sight to behold although I had to hold back the video of the real labour so you don't feel irritated. Anyway as a farmer always be ready to get irritated, you should, especially as a pig farmer but don't forget to remain the fine boy or girl that you're while trying to earn a living. Enjoy!
