A 3-day spiritually edifying Pure Worship Convention on 1st to 3rd at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium! I Attended

It is a yearly convention of Jehovah's witnesses which anyone wouldn't want to miss. I for my part haven't missed anyone ever since I became a Jehovah's witness. This is because it is usually packed with rich spiritual foods that is encouraging, faith strengthening, and motivating. If you had attended anyone in the past, you will surely agree with my that it is not something anyone will consciously want to miss.

Since last year December that we attended the Good news convention, it was announced that this year's topic will be Pure Worship and since then, I have been in anticipation. We thought it will be very far because it was announced that it will be this August but August is here before I could realise it and we have already gone and come back. Well, Jehovah's witnesses are joyful people and they love the association of fellow members and as such, we also loves to look in our best attire depending on what you have and what you can afford to wear. It is not a competition but your best is highly valued.

Due to harsh economy, I was thinking that we would just attend on our old clothes but thankfully, my cousin promised to help sew our clothes if we can buy the materials. Thanks to Steemit, I was able to arrange for the materials for the 3 days. I went for an affordable materials and they were all ready before the day but I was only able to get the ones of my son and one of my husband's own since it was another tailor that sewed for the men.

Then, I was able to buy new shoes too for my daughter, myself and my son. These shoes were needs so to speak due to my kids graduation.

The next in line to get ready was the food to eat. Yes, our lunch at the convention is a major part of the plan because we love sharing what we have. There are some who may not have what to eat and as such, we can share ours with them. It gives much joy to share something as small as a simple meal with dear brothers and sisters. I planned to prepare fried rice for 2 days and spaghetti for one day. There was no plan for meat because there was not enough money for that. Instead, I went for egg for 2 days and then managed to buy meat for the last day. All that matters is the joy and not how rich the food is.

As a mother, I love playing my part so as to be early at the convention. Hence, I planned to wake up my 3am to prepare the food each day. Since I am already used to waking up early, it wasn't a problem for me. On each of the days, I was able to finish food preparation before 5.30 am. For convenience, I packed the food in disposable plates and bagged them to the convention instead of carrying cooler and plates. This way, it was easy and convenient for everyone.

These were the much we could afford. We were 6 in the family because my 2 cousins joined us. Other ones were shared and enjoyed with Christian friends.

In each of the days, we arrived well on time to even take pictures before the programs began. That way, we were able to relax and welcome others as well as share pleasantries with those we are seating together with.

Meanwhile, this convention was held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium Uyo and the peak attendance was over 20,000 and 294 new disciples were baptized.

Major features of the Pure Worship Convention included talks, symposiums, dramatisations, videos and baptism. The topic of the video is Goodnews according to Jesus part 2 and 3. Part one was watched during last year's convention. It is available for rewatch on www.jw.org website. Everyone is free to watch it there.

Different speakers gave talks on different topics which helped us to truly understand the fact that we are truly engaging in pure worship of Jehovah. Every sun topic revolved around this main theme. Do you also know that by means of a video, were able to tour round the lands and cities where Jesus lives and preached while on earth? It was truly amazing seeing how those places look like now.

We equally saw the Jordan river where Jesus was baptised and where John the Baptiser baptised people. The Goodnews according to Jesus drama helped us to appreciate the role Jesus played in promoting pure worship. And how he was able to open up the opportunity for the Anointed ones to have the opportunity to go to heaven and rule with him. Soon, their rulership will be extended to this earth and we will all be free from all the problems that we are experiencing today. It will truly be a wonderful period. I am in anticipation.

Friends who were invited came including some steemians who were also witnesses like @nsijoro @whitie @whizzybro4eva and others. I was happy to meet @mosesstones for the first time and to know that he is my Christian Brother. We were so excited at that convention and even wished that it never finished.
