Advancing In My Carrier As Accountant/ Lecturer: Admission Gotten In Akwaibom State university
I am pleased to announce that I have gotten admission into Akwaibom State University here in Akwaibom State. It is located at Obio akpan abark local government. This is really a great news to me as I seek to make advancement in my carrier as a lecturer in Accounting.
It is a school of continuous education and it is a weekend program that will run for 2 years with 3 semesters in each year. I got to know of this program from a friend of mine when I was contemplating going for PGD program. He advised me to go for this program because it's the best. After much enquiries, I decided to go for it.
With the help of a staff there, I was able to buy the admission form for 15500 Naira (equivalent of 77.5 steem) and then when an offer of admission was given, I proceeded to pay for the acceptance fee of 15700 Naira ( equivalent of 78.5 steem). Details in the screenshots of my WhatsApp communication with Mr Duke, the staff that helped me fill out the admission form below

Next, I was advised to go to the school campus at Abark and do my documentation and collect my admission letter. I went there last 2 weeks but i was very sick then, I couldn't complete it but I made efforts to provide all the documents, buy 4 student files and submitted.
Yesterday being August 22nd, I went again since I am much stronger to complete the admission process. I was able to properly file all the documents I had submitted earlier according to the order.

I then waited for the admission letter to be issued to me. While waiting, I was called upon by the HOD of Admission. In her office, she asked if I had paid the school fees. Well, I asked how much and she said it's 250000 Naira (equivalent of 1250 steem) each year. I told her that I haven't paid. She said that they can only give me the admission letter after I made a deposit. I pleaded with her to give me so that I can use it to inform my school where I am working as soon as I get back to my office next week. I promised to pay before lectures start first week of September 2025. I was so surprised that she told the secretary that she will guarantee me, that she should give me the letter. A photocopy was made for me to sign off.

I enquired about the time and nature of the lectures. I was told that the lectures will be on Fridays and Saturdays only. Friday lectures usually start by 12 noon because it is to enable workers arrive. And then Saturday lectures will begin in the morning and end by 4 pm. At least even if I should leave the city where I am working in the morning on Friday, I can still get there before that 12 noon.
I took some pictures around before leaving

The distance in monetary value from my house to the school and back is 3600 naira (equivalent of 18 steem). However, when lectures begin, I will have to sleep over that side and come back on Saturday if all things work out as planned.
With this admission letter, I will write a letter to Dr Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic through my department to inform them officially about my studies so that they will quickly welcome my additional qualifications when I am awarded. This will also enable them to fix my lectures (as a lecturer) at a time and days when it will not collide with my own lectures (as a student )on Fridays.
This program will give me a direct entrance for Masters Degree immediately after the 2 years is over. As one who graduated from the polytechnic originally, I am supposed to go for a PGD program before masters. But this will delete that. Additionally, since Akwaibom State university offers admission in Masters Degree, even if my certificate is not ready after this 2 years program, I can start my masters immediately. All they need to do is to inform that section about my awaiting result. It sounds good!
This means that I will be as busy as possible in order to keep up with these schedules. Well, I pray for wisdom from Above and strength to be able to handle them along with my family responsibilities.
Another goodnews that I have is that my daughter who wrote her senior school certificate examination before her graduation from high school cleared all her papers. This means that she didn't fail any of the papers she wrote, giving her the opportunity to move further. Well, we are contemplating if she will go for SLT (science laboratory technology) in the same school where I am lecturing. Plans are still ongoing. We will keep guiding her to make the best decision. It might even mean that we might relocate to that city where I am working. But let's see how it t goes!
