Diary Game 11th August 2025|| Abundance Follows Gratitude.
Some people say that when you're given a gift or helped in a significant way, you should just thank the person and go your way or move on quietly. I don't agree with that. I am a firm believer of the notion that " Thank a man genuinely for his good deeds, and he's likely to do more".
This was the scenario I found myself in yesterday being the 11th of August 2025. What happened, Let me take you back a few steps.
Sundays are almost always hectic days for me. This one in particular was bustling as my department had decided to celebrate my birthday and it was a fun activity, I will share more on that later. Going home, all I wanted to do was shut my eyes and go to sleep but for some reasons unknown to me, I stayed awake and online.
Time was 8:30pm, but I noticed a lot of messages coming from a particular group I belong to, very curious I went to check it out. Lo, we were doing a giveaway but this type of giveaway was different.
Everybody was asked to participate. No one could say they didn't have anything to give. From 100 naira airtime, to cash transfers, to data, just make sure you give something. You can imagine the frenzy that was going on in that group. It was like an Eke market day when vendors are calling out their products to prospective customers but this time around, everyone there was both the customer and the vendor😂😂... Organised chaos.
In the midst of that chaos, someone offered to buy me a cup of parfait. The thing being that I had never taken a cup of this parfait so you can imagine my excitement. Fast forward to yesterday, and my parfait arrived. It was the yummiest cup of goodness I had taken in a while. Unpack this experience with me.
I think the delivery man saw me as a Nepo baby and decided to increase the price for delivery. Once I switched to pidgin and my native tongue, he got his senses back and we started talking well 😂 😂.

This was me unboxing the parfait. This Parfait was made with some of the best available products. I was in for a treat. Immediately my yard people saw me bringing something out of a nylon, trust that they all lined up to see and taste.

Once you come upon such creamy goodness, know you're in for a good treat. As you can see from the image, there are lots of fruits lined up here. I can see some cashew, sliced apples and strawberries, groundnuts, and some other things I couldn't really identify. See how that Greek yoghurt held everything in place looking all yummy.
One thing I love is soft food, as I'm a toothache survivor. If you're one, you'll understand and this particular vendor saw into me as everything here was so soft, crunchy and chewy. Once it enters my mouth, it doesn't fight for dominance, it just surrenders to my taste buds😩😩😩. Holy Molyyyyy😩😩.
I've heard a lot of complaints online about parfait vendors garnishing just the top of their parfait,so I decided to take a deeper poke inside.
This was me spooning downwards and mehnnn, road no dey. I kept encountering obstacles everywhere I turned in the name of fruits. While I was combating fruit obstacles, my mouth was having a food organism. Ouuuuieeeee. It was so good, I would literally close my eyes for a few minutes, sigh and then mutter some inaudible things😂😂. Anticipation was rising amongst those with me😂.

Once I saw they couldn't bear it anymore and would likely keep a grudge with me for 300 years because of this, I gave them some scoops. Enough to satisfy initial craving, but not enough to be satisfied because you'd be asking for more once you taste this.

Once I was done, I took up the work of an unpaid influencer ohh. Posting videos and pictures of the product up in my WhatsApp status. Some people felt I was doing too much , but heyyyy, in this economy, any help or gift or assistance you get, be very greatful for it as it's not your right. Anyways, I got a prospective customer and when I found out the price of what I had just taken, I doubled my influencer work😂.
Do you believe people should show gratitude loudly or silently??
I'd like to read your thoughts.
