Imparting knowledge on my Primary One Pupils// Life of a passionate and a caring Teacher// 23-06-2025.
Yesterday, Monday, 23rd June 2025, was a remarkable day for me and my pupils at Kings and Queens Royal Schools, where I have the privilege of teaching. As the day drew to a close, I decided to utilize the last two periods to impart a valuable lesson to my Primary One pupils.
We had exhausted all the activities on the timetable, and I felt it was the perfect opportunity to teach them the second and third stanzas of our National Anthem. It's astonishing how often we overlook subtle yet crucial academic reforms, especially when it comes to shaping young minds.

In Nigeria, our National Anthem comprises three stanzas, but regrettably, many schools and institutions are only familiar with the first stanza.
As a dedicated teacher, I discovered that my students were unable to recite the second and third stanzas. I realized that this was the ideal time for them to learn, as it might become increasingly challenging as they grow older.

Interestingly, many adults, including ourselves, might struggle to recite the additional stanzas of our National Anthem. With this in mind, I seized the opportunity to teach my students the second and third stanzas. To my delight, they were able to recite them perfectly and effortlessly.
The students were overjoyed to have learned all three stanzas of their National Anthem. But what brought me even greater happiness was the response from their parents. This morning, I received calls from several parents expressing their gratitude for my tutelage. Some even confessed that they were challenged when their wards sang all three stanzas of the National Anthem, while they, as parents, couldn't.

Moments like these remind me of the profound impact a passionate and caring teacher can have on young minds. It's a privilege to play a role in shaping the next generation of leaders and citizens, and I look forward to many more moments of joy and fulfillment in my teaching journey.
