Lost but found (My stolen bicycle)

Hello friends, how are you all doing today? I hope all is well and you all are having a nice and wonderful day. Today I have good news, and it's about my stolen bicycle 🚲.

I have a bicycle, and I bought it on the 27th of January 2025. That was when I stopped working in order to resume school fully. The purpose of me buying that bicycle was to help me out with school so as not to spend too much on transportation.

But unfortunately for me, the bike got stolen in April, during our first-semester examination. I was so frustrated and confused because back then I had no spare money 🤑 for transportation, but thank God I had a contentious plan.

So ever since then I lost hope on the bike because I thought I would never see the bike again, and since that April, I have been wasting money every day on transportation just to be in school.

So now we'd finished our second semester exams, so I've been staying at home for like three weeks now, until last week when I entered our department group chat. One of my colleagues dropped a voice note saying that our senior colleague Roy, who is in level 400, was looking for me because he had seen my bicycle.

I was shocked, and in my mind, since I'd locked the front wheel of the bike, I was expecting to see a different wheel on the bike, as the criminal would have dismantled everything so as to be able to use the bike.

So I contacted Roy last week, and he said that he had seen my bike. He said I should come with 10,000 naira, which is equivalent to 50 steem. As seen in the above chat, I asked him about the criminal that took the bike, and he said that it was an architecture student. He also said that he could recognize the person, though the person ran away and left the bike when the criminal saw him.

I was even having troubles believing the story, but I played along

Yesterday I gathered the money and went to meet him. It was in our department since the final year students were finishing up their practical project (sculpture and painting) so as to defend and graduate. Most of them were always in the department working.

So I met Roy and I followed him to carry the bike, and what baffled me was that the bike was all dusty and the tire was flat, and also in a small room in the back of our department.

Dusty

The bike was dusty meaning that the bike had been kept they for a long time

Flat tire

Also the flat tire signify that the bike had been kept one place for a very long time

Small room

Also means that while we were writing exams he might have carried the bike use the backyard into the room and lock it

So I paid him the money with an assurance from him that he would provide the criminal when school resumes in November, but deep down I'm suspecting him. Since my friends are everywhere and a lot of eyes were looking for the bike while it was lost, he was unable to remove it, let alone even trying to sell it or use it.

But be that as it may, I found my bike and I'm excited, but I will get to the root of it and ensure that I bring the criminal to justice. I had already opened the case at the police station, and when school resumes and he fails to show me the person that he said stole the bike, then automatically he is the criminal and he will be arrested.

Hmmm, this is indeed a tricky situation from what I've read, everything points to the fact that the one who called you to come pick the bike with a pay is actually the culprit here. I hope you dig into this matter until the truth is unraveled... I still don't get why he requested for 10k l, I mean for what?... Anyways, it is what it is. Thanks for sharing.

Indeed I'm suspecting him, though not sure but when we resume school I'm certainly going to find out

Reading your story reminded me how valuable personal belongings can feel, especially when they hold memories. A stolen bicycle represents both loss and betrayal, but regaining it transforms the pain into joy. Your post beautifully shows how faith and patience often lead us back to what’s truly ours.
