Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 107: We Love Meetups
Have you ever attended a meetup of steemians or you're just hearing of it?
I have attended a meetup and it was with my fellow steemian @hamzayousazai. It was my very first experience and honestly it made me feel very good. Before this I had only read about meetups happening in Nigeria or other countries and i always thought how nice it must be. When i finally got the chance to meet someone from Steemit in real life it felt special. Meeting someone who also understands the platform and is active here made me realize that Steemit is not just online but can also create real connections.
Tell us your experience. Do you think meeting up as steemians is good? What benefits do we derive from meeting up?
My experience of meeting @hamzayousazai was very positive. We shared about our posting journey how we participate in contests and what challenges we sometimes face. It felt very natural because we already knew each other’s usernames from Steemit so it was easy to connect in real life too. I believe meeting up as steemians is very good because it brings people closer. We spend most of our time on the platform posting and commenting but when we meet face to face it creates stronger friendship. Another big benefit is knowledge sharing. Everyone has different skills some are good at writing some at photography and some at editing. When we meet we can teach each other and learn quickly. Another benefit is motivation. After my meetup i felt more inspired to stay active and consistent on Steemit because i saw that there are real people behind the usernames who are also working hard. Meetups also give us trust and encouragement. We feel part of a family not just a website.
If given an opportunity to meet up with members of a community on Steemit which community would that be? Give reasons.
If i get the chance i would love to meet members of the Steem4nigeria community. I have a big respect for this community because they are very active creative and supportive. Even though i am not from Nigeria i always see the way this community organizes contests motivates writers and builds teamwork. They focus on learning and growing together which inspires me a lot. If i ever attend a big meetup with Steem4nigeria members i am sure i would learn so much. I want to know how they manage their community so successfully how they keep members motivated and how they continue to bring new ideas every week. Another reason is that i admire their unity. They really show that Steemit is not just about posting but about helping each other. Meeting them would be a big chance for me to improve myself and also share my ideas with them.
Tell us one question you've always been seeking an answer to on steemit and why you think that question is important.
This question is very important to me because it is about fairness and encouragement. Sometimes i see a person writing with real effort sharing nice pictures and still getting very small votes. At the same time another person may post something very short and get huge votes. It makes me wonder what the exact system is and how one can truly improve their rewards. If there was a clear answer to this question it would help not just me but many other new steemians. It would guide us on what to focus on how to improve our content and how to become more visible. This question matters because if people who work hard do not get proper support they may feel discouraged and stop posting. But if they understand the process they will try harder and stay motivated.
