I hope everyone is well, by the grace of Allah, I am also well, Alhamdulillah. Today I have come to participate in a film competition organized by @ruthjoe. This competition is SLC-S25/W2—Cinema Snapshot | Book to Screen because it is a story discussed in a novel and a film has been made from a book according to the novel. We will discuss it in detail, but let's end with some questions and answers.

Do you think, an idea is better written as a book/novel or acted out as a movie? And which do you prefer?

There is a lot of difference between these two because there are many of us who like to watch movies and there are many who are addicted to novels or reading and do not like movies that much. I enjoy reading books or novels and watching movies equally, but there is some difference between watching movies and reading books. For example, when reading a book, we can only imagine the story and feel it accordingly, but through movies, any story can be presented to everyone and can be seen directly because in movies, the entire story is explained to us so that we can understand it completely. For me, watching movies is much more exciting because there I can see any story directly acted, but this is not the case in reading books.
First of all, we need a lot of patience to know the whole story by reading books, but by watching movies, we can understand and understand the same story by explaining it within 2-3 hours. So instead of reading story books, we can only do this which is very fun and exciting to watch, so I prefer watching movies. Also, movies are made more interesting with songs and dances in movies, and here the characters are portrayed as real by actors and actresses, so it is very easy to understand everything. Also, here all the stories are expressed through acting and here the feeling of talking is expressed, so for me, watching movies seems more acceptable than reading books.

The novel I will discuss today is called "Amar Bondhu Rashed", written by Muhammad Zafar Iqbal. This is a children's novel based on the Liberation War. In this novel, the story is told from the perspective of a teenager named Rashed, who participated in the Liberation War in the context of the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, and his friend Ibu. And a beautiful movie has been made based on this novel with some child artists.

The story begins with an ordinary schoolboy named Rashed, who used to play and mischief with his friends. But after the Liberation War began, Rashed's life changed, he actively participated in the Liberation War with his friends to liberate his motherland. They help the freedom fighters in various ways, such as delivering maps of the location of military camps, collecting various secret information from the military to deliver it to the freedom fighters, collecting weapons and food for the freedom fighters, etc.
The main character of the novel is Rashed, who is a very brave boy. He plays an important role in the liberation war through his courage and sacrifice. Even in the difficult circumstances of the war, Rashed and his friends fight for the country without giving up. They help the freedom fighters in various ways. The novel sets a shining example of patriotism, courage and friendship of teenagers.

At the end of the novel, the story of the heroism and sacrifice of Rashed and his friends is narrated, which awakens the feeling of patriotism in the minds of the readers.

From the movie you have watched above, what can you say about the strengths and weakness of the movie compared to the book/novel if you have not read the book then tell us what captivated you the most in the movie and if you were to write a book on the movie how would that part be written to captivate the reader?

"Amar Bondhu Rashed" is a very favorite of mine, and I enjoyed watching it as a movie as well. When it comes to the movie I watched above, when it comes to the strength and weakness of the movie compared to the book/novel, I did not find any weakness in it. I have read the book of this novel almost many times, one thing that fascinated me about the movie is the deep love and deep attraction of a young boy towards his country, which is not seen in today's youth. If I were to write a book on the movie, I would change just one scene at the very end of the novel.
At the end of the novel, it is shown that Rashed gave his life to this country, which means that he was caught by the military and they brutally blindfolded and killed the little boy. I would have changed this scene and kept Rashed alive. I would have kept his restlessness, remoteness, and mischievous childhood alive, I would have given him another chance to see his independent homeland, but where did it go? Through his sacrifice, Rashed has taught us how to love our homeland, how to protect it, how to help the people of our country. "Amar Bondhu Rashed" The novel is not just a story of the Liberation War - it is a story of friendship, a story of courage, and finally, it is a story of a teenager's love for his country.🥹
