The main story of the film revolves around the life of a woman from a brothel called Baiji Palace in Lucknow, India. There was a time when Lucknow had many brothel Palaces. In the dark of night, people from noble families used to come to these palaces and have fun. Sahebjan was one of them. Sahebjan grew up in the Palace since his childhood.
Seeing people being entertained, she grew up. Various incidents of his life, love, affection, and emotions are revealed in this film.
The most important thing is that the plot of the film was very beautiful. All the actors were completely professional. Everyone acted in this film according to their ability.
The dialogues, dances, and sets of the film were all very beautiful. Due to which it was awarded many awards, including Filmfare.

Meena Kumari as Nargis/Sahibjan:-
Meena Kumari played the role of mother and daughter at the same time. She acted as Nargis when she was a mother, and she played the role of Sahibjan as well as daughter. This movie is mainly about Meena Kumari, or the story of Sahebjan. Her acting was so good and the plot was so beautiful that even now, Indian heroines want to act in a film like Pakeezah.
Ashok Kumar as Sahabuddin; -
Ashok Kumar is a famous actor. By getting a beautiful plot, he got more opportunities to show his acting talent. He was praised a lot for his acting.
Raaj Kumar as Salim Ahmed Khan: -

Describe the plot and setting of the movie.- |

Nargis is a prominent Tawaif living in the Muslim neighborhood of Lucknow. She is in love with a man from a wealthy family named Shahabuddin. Shahabuddin also likes Nargis, and they express their desire to get married, but the head of Shahabuddin's wealthy family, Hakim Saab, refuses to accept their relationship and strongly protests. Helpless, Nargis flees to a nearby graveyard and lives there. Before she died, she gave birth to a daughter. On her deathbed, Nargis writes a letter to Shahabuddin informing him of her newborn daughter. Nargis' sister was Nawabjan. While she was buying jewelry, she found a piece of jewelry similar to Nargis's. She asked the jeweler about this jewelry, and the jeweler took him to the graveyard. She found Nargis's body and her daughter, and Nawabjan brought her daughter to the Tawaif neighborhood.
After many years, when Nargis's belongings were sold, a man found Nargis's letter and delivered it to Shahabuddin. Shahabuddin found Nargis's adult daughter, Sahibjan, and saw her working as a tawaif in Nawabjan's brothel. Shahabuddin was distressed by this and wanted to take the girl. But Nawabjan did not want him to take Nargis' daughter, so she ran away with her niece to another city. While traveling by train, a young man entered Sahebjan's compartment and found her sleeping.
Shahjan's face was covered, but her feet were uncovered. Covering the beauty of her feet, the young man wrote a note praising her feet and left it behind. After reaching his destination, Sahebjan woke up to find the note. he read it and fell in love with the writer of the note.

Salim and Sahibjan plan to get married, but Sahibjan is ashamed to talk about her profession. Without informing Salim, she runs away from there. By chance, Salim learns that Sahebjan comes from a brothel, and she entertains people.
Salim, who is heartbroken, finally decides to marry someone else despite his family's insistence and invites Sahebjan to dance the mujra at his wedding. In that wedding ceremony, Nawabjan learn that Sahebjan is Sahabuddin's daughter and Salim is Sahabuddin's nephew. SahebJan was dancing one dance after another in anger and hatred. While dancing, she broke the nearby objects and kept dancing on them. His leg was cut, and the floor was soaked with blood. Aunt Nawab Jan could not bear it. She called Sahabuddin and said - Look what has happened to your family's Pradip because of you. Shahabuddin, whom you think is a dancer, is actually your daughter.
The head of the family could not bear this. He went to shoot SahebJan, but it hit the father, Shahabuddin.
After various arguments, the head of the family accepted SahebJan. And arranged a marriage between Selim and Sahebjan
