Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 99: Over Indulgence in Consumables-(Gluttony)
Hello steemians and fellow members of steem4nigeria community. Greetings to everyone. I'm here to share my
views on this topic for this week. I want to thank @steem4nigeria for organizing this contest. this will give me the opportunity to express all that was kept inside of me. I just hope you enjoy reading.
Explain gluttony and how a person with such behaviours can be identified.
Glutton is a who eats voraciously, obsessively, or to excess. The clinical name for a glutton is gormandizer.
Then gluttony is that act of eating excessively.
A glutton is very easy to identify. Gluttony is a habit. Thus, one can never hide a habit. Though in this time and era gluttony has Ben redefined with another polished name so it doesn't sound like a bad habit. Gluttons themselves now call each otherFOODIE. I think they don't want admit that that habit is wrong.
Here are a few signs that someone is a glutton:
✓. A glutton eats quickly as if he/she is in a eating contest.
✓. A glutton eats excessively regardless of whatever.
✓. He/She eats anything available not minding the side effects.
✓. They eat in between meals
✓. A glutton is not ready to share his/her meal with others.
✓. A glutton doesn't consider what he/she eats. In that case they don't mind if the food is healthy or not.
Do you think a gluttonous person can be likened to just food and drinks? Explain.
No, gluttony is ambiguous. It's about binge. Some gluttons are druggie. They do stuffs in excess and that can be bad.
Doing anything excessively is bad. It's not healthy at all. When the chain of doing things excessively cuffs you then you are likely to sink down deep into misery.
Naturally human beings weren't built to do anything excessively. Doing too much of anything can be harmful to your health. moderation of everything is the best. When you indulge in anything for too long it becomes danger to the health.
What is your view of this? Do you think it's a natural situation or something one can manage or control? Tell us.
Anything that you can't control turns you to a slave. Moderation is the key to living a balanced life. Gluttony should not be overlooked or considered harmless. Just like every other bad habit gluttony can be harmful to humans.
We can control everything about ourselves through discipline. When you take yourself accountable and responsible for whatever happens in your life then you can control what you can do and what you can't do.
Learning to manage gluttony can be difficult at first. However constant discipline can help you in the long run.
Having selfcontrol, will and direction is what makes human different from other animals.
I strongly believe that we can control our eating habits if we want to improve on healthy lifestyle.
What advice do you have for people who find themselves in such a condition?
There are so many ways one can help themselves in battling with gluttony.
From my little research I have learnt that gluttony is a sin. So I believe we shouldn't let our lifestyle stop us from living a decent and moderate lifestyle.
Here are are few things a glutton can do to rescue themselves from such habit:
✓. First and foremost I think you should learn the act of delay gratification. This will automatically help control your craving and break the chain of the impulse circle.
✓. Second, I think a glutton should replace their habit with something healthy like exercising, reading and probably spending time doing other meaningful things in life.
✓. Thirdly, Try to identify what triggers the habit and deal with it from the root. This will help stay in control.
✓. Learn to eat moderately. Eat to satisfaction not stuffing yourself too much.
✓. He/She should only eat healthy foods and not just what is available at the moment.
✓. Practicing to eat with a time table can help too. This will help him/her to limit binge eating. That is, eating or snacking in between meals or meal time.
✓. A glutton should try as much he/she can to only eat healthy foods to avoid health issues and obesity.
I think with these few points of mine we can learn how to control binge eating.
